Monarchism is the advocacy of monarchy or monarchical rule. A monarchist is an individual who supports this form of government, independent of any specific monarch; one who espouses a particular monarch is a royalist. Conversely, the opposition to monarchical rule is sometimes referred to as Republicanism. (Definition from Wikipedia)
Beliefs and Practices
There are 2 types of Monarchism: Absolute Monarchy and Constitutional Monarchy. Both still have the same "heir to the throne" ideologies and "all must obey the King" ideas. But the 2 couldn't be more different.
Absolute Monarchy
An Absolute Monarchy is more like a Dictatorship in which the leader, King, or Monarch, can do whatever they want with and in the nation. Everything the Monarch says, goes and there is no disobedience to the throne. Usually the family of the throne is very wealthy and lives a good life, leaving the members of the nation to starve. In EMC this is not the case, because it is very easy to immigrate to another nation as soon as the current nation treats them terribly. Usually it's just an all powerful leader that has a "throne" and there are heirs sometimes.
Constitutional Monarchy
A Constitutional Monarchy is more like a Democracy in how they support Independent Rights to members of the nation. A Constitutional Monarchy has more freedom and wealth in non-royalty than an Absolute Monarchy. In EMC this Monarchy system is the mainly used Monarchy, as it's the most wanted Monarchy by players on EMC. (side note: probably because the leaders are greedy and want the nations rule to themselves)
