It is the heartland of New Guinea Nationalism and is the Headquarters of the New Guinea Liberation Movement.

Due to ever growing tensions, as well as plans as the March 9th Plot, Sorong is struggling to attempt to make peace in the region.

I do not know much history of this town, it was the Capital of the Nation Oceania until its fall.

The Town ran into some difficulties during its founding. Part of the Island was already controlled by Tokyo.
