Iturup
Iturup is an island town located north east of mainland Japan. The town was founded by Jumbledore and minibongo7 on the 2nd of May 2020 using gold they had plundered from abandoned towns throughout Asia. Two days after the towns founding, Jumbledore sailed to Tokyo where Iturup was invited to join the nation of Japan by Fenzenyatta. Soon after the town began expanding rapidly with many new structures being created both above and below ground.
Conflict with Tsargrad
Tsargrad is a town located on another Island just off the east coast of Iturup, a small channel of water spanning around 150 blocks separates the two islands.
Shortly after founding Iturup, Jumbledore was AFK in town claims when Tsargrad citizens attempted to use a fishing rod to pull him into the wilderness in order to attack him. Jumbledore attempted food communicate with the citizens but they only spoke Russian.
Many more occurrences of Tsargradians encroaching on Iturup’s lands soon followed with one incident involving a giant R being built out of cobblestone on the island.
The Battle of Iturup
On the 27th of May 2020 Tsargrad was spotted preparing a raiding party of around 7 people with the intention to launch an attack on Iturup. The Japanese Army was quickly mobilised and arrived on Iturup where a temporary barracks was set up in the biggest pagoda. The invading Tsargradians advanced towards the edge of the town where they were met with fierce resistance from the Japanese Army. After several minutes of fighting the Tsargradians were overwhelmed and forced to retreat back across the water to their island.
The Japanese forces followed the Tsargradians back to their island where more fighting began. This fighting ended in a stalemate as Japanese soldiers were unable to effectively board the heavily fortified island and as the Tsargradians would not leave the safety of their claims. With the battle thought to be over and won, the majority of the Japanese army returned back to mainland Japan to resume their usual business there with only KawadaJP returning back to Iturup,
Seeing that the Japanese forces had withdrawn, the Tsargrad raiders mounted another assault on Iturup. A group of around 6 invaders were spotted approaching the island from the east, realising what was about to happen KawadaJP bravely ventured out of the towns claims to defend Iturup once again. The invaders landed on the eastern coast of Iturup and planted their banners claiming and damaging the small house that was located there. The Tsargradians advanced but with exceptional bravery and skill, KawadaJP was able to single-handedly defend against 6 Tsargrad soldiers for over 15 minutes.
Realising that they could not defeat KawadaJP, the invaders once again retreated back to their island where they remained and did not return. Three days after the battle a peace treaty was agreed between the nation of Japan and Tsargrad to end the fighting and with the aim to avoid any future conflict.
After The Conflict
Fearing a second invasion, after the battle Jumbledore rushed to claim the rest of the land on the island in order to install the necessary defences. Over 100g was donated to Iturup by various Japanese citizens to help with the claiming efforts. A wall was also constructed around the perimeter of the island in order to prevent invaders landing on the shores. Plans were also made to construct powerful TNT cannons overlooking the channel between Iturup and Tsargrad, however, these were scrapped with the signing of the peace treaty.
