The Province of Southwest Alaska, commonly known as Southwest Alaska, or by it's acronym SWAK, was a province located in the Southwestern region of Alaska. The province was known for being the first province of the Alaskan Empire and for it's attempt to create it's own independent nation. The province was headed by player BetaPlain who originally proposed the province system to the Alaskan Lord's Council. Newburn was the seat of the province and it's most populous city. Many towns within Southwest Alaska were in the towny nation of Kodiak or the nation of Yukon.

History

Creation

In the discussions following the proposal to form the province system, BetaPlain attempted to expand Southwest Alaska's territory to expand Newburn's influence over Alaska. BetaPlain's involvement in the discussions thwarted attempts by other Lord's Council members to expand their province into Southwest Alaskan territory, and allowed Southwest Alaska to secure the town of Shonen Harbour.

When discussions finished, the province of Southwest Alaska was founded alongside 5 other provinces within the 2nd Alaskan Empire in October 2019. The province of Bering Strait was added later which made the 7th province.

Dissolution

The province of Southwest Alaska was destroyed when the duchy system of governance within the Alaskan Empire replaced the province system.
