The president is elected directly by the people by Instant Runoff Voting, starting in the September 2022 election. Under the previous electoral law, elections for president were held using first-past-the-post voting. Elections for president are held simultaneously to legislative elections. In addition, if a president resigns or is removed from office in the middle of their term, the vice president becomes president. Until late September, the position was called the '''Governor'''. | The president is elected directly by the people by Instant Runoff Voting, starting in the September 2022 election.
