The flag of the town is based on the Czech flag, but the green star symbol has been added to represent the Hungarian nationality (the green colour on the Hungarian flag) and the star is added in honour of the town and the fortress of '''Šance'''.

Only a handful of devoted Czechs remained and they built a star-shaped fortress called Šance, which was to serve as the capital of the Czech nation.
 
However, due to a dispute among the Czechs, a civil war broke out and the fortress fell.
 
====Founding of the town Mosty====
After some time, a few Czechs gathered together again and built the town of Mosty on the ruins of the former fortress of Šance, but now under the protection of the Hungarian nation, so Mosty is officially a Hungarian-Czech town.
 
*In honour of the fortification of Šance, the town is built in the shape of a 4 pointed star (the fortification of Šance was in the shape of an 8 pointed star).
