Nova:Accordo Crisis

The Accordo Crisis (or British Secession or English Civil War) is a schism, and later conflict, that occurred in the Accordo-based British administration, leading to the split of the British Isles and the death of the Commonwealth. It began on 18 February 2022 as the British king MineHero43 was banned along with other officials and mayors.

Background

After much of the British leadership was banned (Minehero43, AngloistVK, and Wither255) on February 18, 2022, leadership was temporarily given to RoseBrugs, and the position of Prime Minister (held by Gabeee) was dissolved. RoseBrugs later proclaimed herself as permanent Queen-Empress, and changed the government from Accordo to secular.

The administration became unpopular, as Accordo went against the new British government, and when Norfolk (a major town in England) fell in 12 March 2022, it was the last straw for many citizens. After this event there was a battle in the ruins of the city, while Spain and Austria claimed almost the entirety of its lands.

Early War

After internal conflicts intensified and instability grew, RoseBrugs proclaimed independence from Britain as Wales. This angered much of the British leadership, who did not want the creation of a Wales nation. Following this, the nations of Denmark and Ireland were created by former British mayors MapleVK and Jooey83, respectively.

Subsequently, The Second North Sea Empire was formed by Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Ireland, and Denmark. Unlike its predecessor, it is decentralized, with no single nation presiding over the rest. The Commonwealth also essentially ended, as all North Sea Empire nations, Quebec, and Indochina left, leaving only Wales and inactive nations.

Conflict

In the early days, Spain has already planned a foothold over Britain with its occupation of Little St James and parts of Norfolk. The German Confederation has established their presence with an existing town claiming from the south, and a new josephinist diocese. Later on, Sussex seceded and joined Italia.

However, on the 4th of April 2022, Cripto_tv became the new mayor of London after MineHero43 purged. This caused Pesetz, a British Chancellor, to kick every town from Britain, except for London, and remove many of the nation's in-game alliances. This further cemented the Petty Kingdom Era over the British Isles. Dublin also fell into ruin, which led to the plundering of some of the oldest buildings in Europe. Groningen (an old Angevin Empire aggressive front against the Europa Pact) also finally fell and was claimed by Friesland. Dublin remained as ruins while the Great Britain island entered a stalemate for the time being.

Welsh Gains

After the fall of the Dublin town, welsh forces successfully claimed most of the town while Ireland was involved in a coup that led to all the towns joining Wales. Spanish fronts in Ireland failed to claim Dublin, due to an error by one of the soldiers in terms of recruitment and a misplaced tunnel which led to Wales' faster claiming.

In response, Sussex, joined Wales, as well as Yorkshire in a bid to unite Britain. The remaining fronts against Wales joined Britain. Edinburgh didn't join by the 7th and 8th of April, however, and any potential growth of Scotland stalled as the conflict shifted towards Norway with the Scandinavian battles between non-Accordo Celts, and the Accordo North Sea Empire alliance. The actual Norwegian nation failed to make any gains at this time, and most of Norway was either in Wales or Denmark. On the 10th, Sussex rejoined the Europa Pact by joining Spain.

The Scots also lost several minor skirmishes and claim battles in the North Sea near Denmark, and Edinburgh was claimed by Wales in a push-up offensive in the North. By the 16th of April, Sussex joined Denmark and became a new Accordo front in what was hitherto a conflict between the Europa Pact and Welsh only for Ireland. The welsh gained superiority in Norway while Denmark concentrated it's claims up North against the EP Sweden.

Cultural Effect

The collapse of the Commonwealth and Britain's hold on the North Sea was seen as a great triumph by the citizens of the Europa Pact and many nations across EarthMC who were in tension with commonwealth members. Some actions made by Accordo members removed popularity, and their bans and/or loss of a stable state was seen as a victory. Slyprince's alting in France and Britain's loss of diplomatic reputation made Britain unfavourable outside the Europa Pact as well, as well as domination over trade and advancement in Europe and the world.

For Accordo the development was damaging. The citizens of Wales saw themselves as fighters of corruption and there was a great deal of support for the nation, though paranoid members of several European leaderships accused them of sustaining Accordo ideals and leadership: especially with their coup of Ireland.
