The Iran-Kurdistan War, also known as the Neo-Sassanid War, The Bloodless War, and the Kurd War, was a war between Iran and Kurdistan which lasted from January 8 to September 18, 2023. The war began when Kurdistan initiated an invasion of Iran in an attempt to march to Sepahan and conquer Western Iran. The war itself was largely a war of attrition as there were minimal battles.
Prelude
Formation of Kurdistan
On December 9, 2022, Chicko, one of the last surviving lords of the Sassanid Dynasty, fled the old capital, Istakhr Citadel and traveled West across the Caspian Sea to establish the nation of Kurdistan in the town of Erbil. Kurdistan immediately joined as a protectorate nation under the Kingdom of Phoenicia which was ruled by Ave, the heir to the Sassanid Dynasty, who was in exile from Iran since its union. However, due to conflicts with Turkey and Chicko's general warmongering attitude, Ave eventually ended the alliance with Kurdistan and removed it as a protectorate.
Diplomacy
Alarmed by the creation of a nation at the hands of an old enemy, Iran reached out to Kurdistan to form a border agreement. Since the capital was not established within Iranian claims, it meant that an uneasy peace was possible. However, due to past hostilities between Iran and the Sassanid Dynasty, it would prove extremely difficult. Furthermore, Kurdistan dropped a one chunk town called SanandaJ on the 30th of December, South of New Orthinia, within Iranian claims.
Over the course of a few days, diplomatic talks were hosted between Iran and Kurdistan by Fiji, the leader of the Turan Pact and Sultan of Turkey. Fiji quickly grew weary of the debates and announced that he would invade both nations if a peace was not reached, despite Iran being a member of the Turan Pact, he then left and the talks were left unsettled.
Another meeting between Sepraf and Chicko took place on January 8, 2023. Chicko began the meeting by presenting a claim map that reached from Erbil to Sepahan, Iran's capital. Sepraf immediately rejected the map, claiming that it dug far too deep within Iran and would even place the capital within Kurdish rule. Chicko responded saying he wanted to keep the claims he drew, to which Sepraf asked if he is ready to start a war over it. Chicko immediately declared war and announced it on TBI, then telling Sepraf that he hopes Iran will not depend on the Turan Pact, to which Sepraf responded "Don't worry about who I rely on."
The War
Iranian Mobilization
Iran immediately began to mobilize its army and called on the Turan Pact to join its war. Grass_Miner, one of the top generals of the Turan Pact and Prime Minister of Kushan swiftly responded stating that the Pact declared war on Kurdistan elaborating that no nation recognizes its claims, even outside of Iran. Due to the decline of Kushan's military might after the execution of Tavi, Iran had to rely on its own military capabilities in the war. Furthermore, due to the preoccupation with Himyars and Turkish reluctance to aid Iran, the Turan Pact largely did not help Iran throughout the war.
Within the same day, Kurdistan joined under a meganation known as the Himyarite Kingdom, ruled by Alzxdnr, which was at war with the Turan Pact. This prompted the Himyars to announce that they support Kurdistan in their war against Iran.
Iran adopted a largely defensive military doctrine at the start of the war, similar to the War of the Six Banners and sent its army to secure its borders from any Kurdish advances. Threatened by the fast mobilization of Iran and the Turan Pact, Chicko did not attempt to make any advances into Iran during this time.
Kurdish Forces
The Kurdish Armed Forces were made up of the Kurdistan Aggression Party (KAP) and the Kurdistan Defensive Forces (KDF). The KAP was designed to launch incursions into Iran while the KDF was intended for defensive warfare. However, the KAP failed to ever penetrate into Iran.
Second Diplomatic Meetings
One day later, on January 9, 2023, Chicko once again requested another meeting with Sepraf. He asked for Kurdistan to be ceded some land from Iran and would in exchange end the war. Sepraf taunted Chicko by bringing up how he only now realizes how dire his situation is, to which Chicko said he never wanted a war. Chicko would elaborate that even though he did not want a war he would not mind one and it was inconsequential to him. He also stated that he wished for an alliance, and that regardless of what happens he will benefit. Sepraf proceeded to inform Chicko that regardless of what happens he will not rule an inch of Iranian soil thus concluding the meeting.
On January 14, 2023, Kurdistan signed an alliance with LumberJackie, the head of the Interim Armenian Government, which was a protectorate of Phoenicia. The main conditions of the alliance were listed as close economic ties and military aid in times of war, thus indirectly bringing Armenia into the war.
Humiliated by his losing streak, Chicko reached out again on January 19, 2023. This time he presented his new claim map which highlighted all of Western Iran as being under Kurdish rule. This caused Sepraf to hysterically laugh due to Kurdistan's military failures and was subsequently followed by insults from both parties.
On January 23, 2023 Kurdistan withdrew from the Himyar meganation due to their declaration of war on Phoenicia. This also implied close secret relations between Chicko and Ave contrary to Ave's claims. Sepraf commented that it was clear Kurdistan was acting as a Phoenician proxy due to Ave's exile from Iran. On this day Chicko also complained to Iran about the creation of the Seljuk nation within Iran's borders.
On January 27 the Anti-Turkish Pact between Armenian Sevan (not to be confused with Republic of Armenia) and Kurdistan was signed in an attempt to prevent Turkish hostilities. Himyar then declared war on both Armenia and Kurdistan using TBI for no apparent reason. This was swiftly followed by a Turkish declaration of war on Kurdistan and Armenia by xTurkishCoffe. On this day, Chicko would once again continue complaining and provoking Iran to start a war with the Seljuks. To which Iran simply ignored the Kurdish instigations. Chicko would go on to elaborate that Turkey was also at war with Kurdistan and claimed that they were racially motivated to wipe out their state, claiming that the entirety of the Middle East was against him. He once again insisted for a white peace and said that the war with Iran was not going anywhere. Sepraf responded by saying that it would not be beneficial for Iran to end the war since they could conquer Kurdistan's claims outside of Iran's borders.
On January 28, Chicko terminated the Anti-Turkish Pact, claiming that he confused Armenian Sevan for the Republic of Armenia. Regardless, Turkey redeclared war against Kurdistan on the 29th. On January 30 Armenian Sevan was surrendered to Turkey for 400 gold ingots.
Turkish Diplomacy
On January 30, 2023 diplomatic talks were hosted between Iran and Kurdistan at the request of the Minister of Turkey, xTurkishCoffe. Israel, represented by Sirtees, was also there to testify. However it quickly became apparent that an immediate peace would not be reached. Sirtees, despite appearing to be on Iran's side, changed his position to supporting Kurdish claims, due to earlier Israeli dissatisfaction with Iran's anti colonial approach to the expansion of New Orthinia, an Israeli colony in North Iran. Ultimately Turkey declared that they would not enforce any deal although a temporary ceasefire was agreed upon. However, xTurkishCoffe secretly informed Sepraf that Turkey supported Iran.
It is speculated that Turkey insisted on these diplomatic talks to prevent Iran from gaining Kurdish territory that existed within Turkey.
Ceasefire
The ceasefire period is marked by little contact between Iran and Kurdistan however the two nations were still technically at war and thus a few diplomatic events of note occurred.
On February 9, 2023, Ohio and Kurdistan signed an alliance. on the 16th, Kurdistan formed a treaty with Byzantium known as the Treaty of Erbil, which formed an economic and military alliance between the two nations. On March 11, 2023, Kurdistan joined Serbia but was kicked from it within the same day. Chicko claimed that this never happened and Kurdistan never joined Serbia to begin with.
Neo Sasanian Formation
On April 12, 2023, Chicko announced that Kurdistan was transforming into the Sasanian Empire, and drew his legitimacy from the fact that he was one of Ehsan's top generals. On the 13th, Ave, the leader of Phoenicia declared his support for the Neo Sasanian Dynasty, and stated that the Sasanians were also the predecessors of Phoenicia. He also stated that he looked forward to the formation of a new Persian Empire in Iran and Kushan. On the 30th, the Neo Sasanian Dynasty joined the Levantine Pact.
Final Meeting
The final official meeting between Iran and Kurdistan took place on May 1, 2023. With the creation of the Neo Sasanians, Chicko reached out to Sepraf and apologized for declaring war on Iran. He stated that it was largely a pointless war and it was his own fault for beginning it. He also stated that he planned on announcing the war was over. Sepraf responded by asking if he declares an unconditional surrender to Iran, to which Chicko stated that he would prefer a white peace so both sides can end hostilities. Sepraf rejected the offer of peace due to Iran's military advances to which Chicko insisted that he would declare the war is over. Sepraf responded that regardless of what Chicko says, nothing will end.
Following this exchange the Neo Sasanian Empire would undergo a period of complete inactivity.
Second War
Return of Kurdistan
On June 17, 2023, Chicko returned with an army under the name of Kurdistan once again and invaded Turkey then declared war on them. This action immediately caused Ave to kick Kurdistan from the Levantine Pact. Turkey announced the same day that the declaration of war would be rejected and Kurdistan was not recognized as a state. Although recognizing its sovereignty, The newly formed Persian Empire lead by Tavi (who was revived from his death) and Sepraf, would redeclare war on Kurdistan to make it clear that Chicko must still pay for his past crimes.
On June 22, 2023, Chicko announced that he was reforming the Kurdish military. He formed three different branches of the Kurdish Armed Forces; the Peshmerga, People's Defensive Unit (YPG), and The Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK). The Peshmerga was a reformation of the Kurdistan Aggression Party (KAP) and served as the main army and assault force. The YPG was a reformation of the Kurdish Defensive Forces (KDF) and acted as an internal army for defensive wars. Finally the PKK was a completely new branch introduced to specialize in rough terrain and mountain warfare as well as utilizing guerrilla tactics. Kurdistan would also join the BNDC on this day.
New Leadership
On July 26, 2023, Chicko announced that he needed to go on a break and promoted Theboss474747 to become the new leader of Kurdistan and would officially return on August 20, 2023. Upon his return Chicko immediately signed a treaty with the nation of Oman, solidifying both nations as economic and military allies.
The Last Days
Joint Forces
On August 26, 2023, Persia already deep in a war against the Turks just like the Kurds, decided to form a cooperative assault. Tavi and Chicko made an agreement to hold all hostilities until the Turks were defeated.
Annexation
As the war raged on against the Turks the constant bloodshed and battle took its toll on Kurdistan, which had become a buffer zone between Persia and Turkey. Chicko, tired of the constant warring, began to place the control of cities outside of and around Kurdistan under Persian rule.
On August 27, 2023, Chicko gave the town of Kurdshan to Persia. On September 18, Hakkari was surrendered to Persia in exchange for gold. Throughout the month of September the remaining Kurdish towns were given to Persia before Chicko completely left. Thus officially ending the war as a decisive victory for Iran.
