The Cascadian Stockgrowers Association (CSGA) is a Cascadian farmers organization that started in late 2024 among Cascadian cattle ranchers to standardize and organize the greater farming and agricultural industry but quickly grew into a political advocacy group for Homesteading, the creation of one person towns to max out claims in the Frontier.
The CSGA is active to this day. It is best known for its role in the creation of new towns in the Frontier with many of its members privately funding the creation and settlement of the region.
Formation
Early in the Frontiers territorial formation in 2022, many frontiersmen gathered together to advocate for policies that would help aid the sparse and rural towns eventually with the creation of the Homestead Act which would see the government subsidizing settlement in select regions.
In late 2023, Akeboun who owned and operated Jericho Ranch would organize with other farms in the region such as Stardew Farms and Winchester Farms. Later on the Shoshone Ranch and Wildwood Ranch would also join.
History
The CSGA would historically would organize cattle roundups, schedule livestock shipments and in 2022-2023 would actively lobby against the Anti-Hunting Act to allow the defense of local farmers and ranchers.
In late 2024 to early 2025 as the Frontier region transformed into an group of counties, it was the CSGA that held a majority of local authority. It was the organization that held any leverage in their attempts to lobby for policies they wished to see in their area. It was the members of this organization that later created the Cattle Barons Club, a group of ranch owners that would come together to discuss issues regarding Cascadia at large and the farming industry.
Frontier Range War
The Frontier Range War was a series of localized conflicts surrounding multiple ranches, specifically the Jericho Ranch and Wildwood Ranch when hunters attempted to kill and harass local farmers. Many ranch owners would come to the aid in the formation of a posse as a show of force in an attempt to fend off the invading hunters. The CSGA would later push the Cascadian government to seek out justice in response, which would eventually lead to the Department of State leveraging the Alaskan government to kick and outlaw the town and hunter in question.
Today
According to the CSGA, the three main roles of the organization are;
- Advocate on the issues regarding and affecting farming in all aspects within Cascadia
- Providing members with information regarding events in the farming and agricultural industry in Cascadia
- Promoting the role of Cascadian farming and agriculture industry
The association currently has a full time staff of one, along with three other associated members. In order to be a voting member one must partake in farming (raising livestock, crops or any farmable material), homesteading (being a member of a one person town).
