The proposal was considered carefully, and was nearly agreed upon, until the Weagamow delegation determined that it was too early into independent nationhood to take international stands against or for certain powers. Among the concern was also fear that such a move may lead to conflict, which would endanger the happiness of the citizens. It would later be written in the constitution that Weagamow would be a neutral country, focused on upbuilding the international order "for the benefit of peace." Certain analyses have determined that if the alliance was accepted, the country may have become nothing more than a buffer state dependent on Texas. Others theorize that acceptance would have also led to confusion and some infighting among the government and its citizens, since the decision could've placed the small, developing town on the foreground for conflict.
