| Oakwood, formerly Coolville, is the county seat of Comment County. It blends medieval and modern elements, as well as taking inspiration from nature. It was originally founded April 12, 2025, and was inherited by its current mayor, The_Last_Comment, September 14, 2025. Its government is rudimentary, made up of a mayor, and two councillors. All government decisions are proposed to the people by the mayor to vote on publicly.

|
| ==== Early History ==== | | ==== Early History ==== |
| Oakwood began as Coolville, inherited by The_Last_Comment at 150 chunks. It took 8 days to transform the town from the city inspired architecture to the medieval aesthetic it has now. | | Oakwood was founded April 17, 2026, although in game it reads April 18th, as the server's time zone is different. |
| | |
| The town started as part of the nation of Vermont, but soon after its initial stages, it was under threat of losing its bridge town Nostromo. The mayor of Nostromo could not be reached, and there weren’t any closer towns.
| |
| On October 12, 2025, Oakwood made the decision with permission from Vermont’s president to join the nation of Cascadia instead.
| |
| | |
| ==== Neighboring Conflicts ====
| |
| Next to Oakwood was a town known as Arnold. This town was inactive, and only had one remaining resident. The town was preventing further Oakwood expansion, and was heavily overclaimed.
| |
| Comment messaged its mayor, Squishysushiyum, offering 272 gold, the cost of each plot in the town. Sushi initially refused, but Comment continued to negotiate. Sushi suggested fighting for the town, which Comment refused, as Oakwood is a peaceful town, and tried to compromise instead. Sushi was not receptive to any of these suggestions, and finally a deal was made.
| |
| If Sushi won the fight, Arnold would be untouched, and Oakwood would claim around it. If Comment won, Oakwood would claim over Arnold’s plots. The fight was without weapons, armor, or potions, taking place in the wilderness just outside of Arnold. Comment was victorious, and the town of Arnold was deleted. The road that was placed on top of the claim was named Arnold Lane in its honor.

| ==== Rallies in Oakwood ====
| |
| Oakwood has hosted many political rallies, taking place on the Oakwood Stage.
| |
| * November 10, 2025, Mjap04 hosted a presidential rally
| |
| * November 13, 2025, MasterEWild hosted a presidential rally
| |
| * January 7, Mjap04 returned to Oakwood for another presidential rally
| |
| | |
| ==== The Sniffer Bobm ====
| |
| November 25, 2025, Oakwood was alerted of an attack. Sitting atop a happy ghast, Bachinuni flew over Oakwood with upwards of 30 sniffers and dropped them into the lake of Oakwood's Roller Coaster. There has not been a similar incident since, and all pets were secured to avoid being snatched by the very same happy ghast.
| |
| | |
| ==== Allies with Grouse ====
| |
| On December 26, 2025, Mjap04 reached out to Comment offering to become Sister Towns with Grouse. Comment agreed, as Oakwood and Grouse have a positive relationship. The decision was made amongst the council two days later, and an Oakwood Embassy was built in Grouse January 1, 2026.
| |
| | |
| == Culture ==
| |
| Oakwood has rich culture amongst its residents, stemming mainly from its medieval influence. It values simple builds and full plots as opposed to apartments and city structure. Many events take place such as Hide and Seek, a scavenger hunt, PVP in its Arena, and meeting after events just to hang out. Oakwood is welcome to all, and often has visitors from the nation, or people just passing through.
| |
| There are also several official symbols to represent it such as:
| |
| * Official music disc: "Creator" by Lena Raine
| |
| * Official flower: Cornflower
| |
| * Official sapling: Oak
| |
| * Official bird: Blue Jay
| |
| | |
| === Sporting ===
| |
| The city is a prominent hub for sports in Cascadia, having an RFL team (Oakwood Oakwardens) and CHL team (Oakwood Bluejays)

|
| == Buildings == | | == Buildings == |
| Oakwood has many public buildings for its residents to use
| |
| * The Town Hall is where town spawn is, as well as the mayor's office. It also serves as the meeting room for Comment County. It was the first building in Oakwood.
| |
| * The Oakwood Café is located just behind the town hall, offering food for a price, as well as free bread for those traveling through the town.
| |
| * The Oakwood Library is on 101 Passthru Lane, and contains many books purchased from Iceland. It also contains Oakwood's history book, as well as a public enchanting room.
| |
| * The fountain is in the conjunction between Oak Street and Passthru Lane, and is the meeting point for many residents.
| |
| * Oakwood's bank, while purely decorative, does serve a purpose to provide example of the town's medieval theme. It is next to the Town Hall on 3 West Oak Street
| |
| * The Oakwood Spa, located on 2 West Oak Street, was built by one of Oakwood's very own residents, Lilsparkez. Spa memberships for it were passed out during Flippizzacake's birthday party hosted in Oakwood as party favors.
| |
| * There are two historic buildings in Oakwood, built by residents as well. The two residents unfortunately left town, but the buildings were left alone. They fit the theme perfectly and were too pretty to simply tear down.
| |
| * The Oakwood shop and nether portal were built together as a way to assist new players. The shop sells essentials such as cobblestone and simple build materials that may be more difficult to get. The portal was made to discourage residents from building their own and accidentally connecting or summoning portals somewhere else.
| |
| * The Oakwood Barn is located on 502 Birch Way, and contains several animals and even three of the mayor's horses; one being a skeleton horse. It also has a potato and carrot farm, and a decorative wheat farm next to it.
| |
| * The Tree Farm is on Forgotten Path, and serves as the town's main source of logs and leaves. It is the first location that new residents are directed to.
| |
| * The Arena, or sometimes referred to as Oakwood Tournament, is the largest build in Oakwood. It inspired a larger expansion for Oakwood that lasted several weeks. It also has a road named after it in which it resides, named Tournament Ridge. This road is where most of Oakwood's tourist locations reside.
| |
| * Oakwood Inn is next to the Arena, and is meant for visitors attending the tournaments, or simply passing through town, to rest if they wish. It is located on Cascadia Highway where most of Oakwood's foot traffic comes from.
| |
| * The Stage in Oakwood was built from the same template as Grouse, though it has Oakwood's colors and flag instead. It has a jukebox that plays the official music disc during waiting periods.
| |
| * Hades Tavern and Hades Blacksmith were both built by Oakwood resident and councillor, Hades_Underworld. The Tavern is next to the Arena, and the Blacksmith is the only building on Gray Way.
| |
| * Oakwood's Combination Femboy Hooters and Cat Café, a reference to the Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, also reside on Tournament Ridge. The Femboy Hooters was built as a result of a failed bill by the House of Representatives to implement the restaurant into every Cascadian town.
| |
| * The Ghast Ports were a new addition as a result of Minecraft's happy ghast update, allowing visitors and residents to park their happy ghasts in any one of its 16 ports. Each port is color coded to make locating them easier. One of the ports is even home to the mayor's own happy ghast, O'Raighbheartaigh (O'Rafferty).
| |
| * Oakwood's Sniffer Farm was built as a result of the sniffer bomb, the sniffers being relocated to the sanctuary shortly after. Many did not survive the transportation, and as of now, only 4 remain.
| |
| * There are several assorted builds placed in non-residential plots to add decoration to the town, such as the windmill, gazebo, and watchtower.
| |
| * Oakwood has an Alliance Steakhouse branch located on 15 West Oak Street, built by Flippizzacake.
