Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a nation comprising the southern two thirds of the mainland of the Australian continent, and the island of Tasmania. It is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy led by the King, Panth_r. The current Prime Minister is smothyhoo.

Pre-Nostra Era

Initial Planning

The idea of an Australian nation began in July 2025, as plans for a New Zealand nation were scrapped. Originally under the name of "New Holland", members of Pilbara began planning a successor state for Terra Nostra. The original nation plan was a Democratic Republic without a Monarchy, to be led by Panth_r as the interim President. However, due to the nuking of the Pilbaran Discord and subsequent Pilbara-Oceania War, several original members of the planned nation would leave the plan due to falling outs with the founders, leaving Panth_r, smothyhoo, SparkleAquaRose, GabeTheInsomniac and pritchy009 as the core founding members.

The plan of a Republic would be abolished on September 6th 2025, as the Australian Monarchy was officially instated with Panth_r as the first King. smothyhoo and SparkleAquaRose would serve as interim Prime Ministers before the launch of the server, organizing the launch plan. SparkleAquaRose would be the Prime Minister coming into the release of the Nostra server.

Continental / Population Expansion

Several other minor planned nations would join the Australian meganation, notably Westralia led by RosemaryMan, and Tasmania led by Owry/nuuit, whom would integrate into Australia. This led to Australia's sphere of influence expanding outside of just Eastern Australia.

The membership of the nation would rapidly expand in early 2026, as the Reset grew ever closer. Due to improving relations with the nation of Australia on Aurora, several ex-Australians would come to join the plans for Australia on Terra Nostra. Several friends of the original founders would also plan to migrate to Australia. Due to the collapse of some other nations from Aurora, Australia would become a hotspot for migration, especially from Texas with several people migrating. This led to roughly 90 citizens in the Australian Discord before launch, with around 20 having Premium.
