Manicouagan was a democratic republic on EarthMC Terra Aurora located in Canada and in proximity to the nations of Vermont and the former nation of Laurentia. It went through many different governments and capitals but was held by MasterEWild from July 8th, 2024, to the nation's merge with Cascadia.

History

Note this sections only includes history of the nation when it was held by atTAboycARL and then later, MasterEWild

Laurentia Inclusion

Following atTAboycARL's purchase of Manicouagan (then named Nunavik), it became a sub-nation to Laurentia, due to the signing of the Treaty of the Cities on March 14th, 2024. The treaty outlines the conditions upon (then) Nunavik becoming a sub-nation.

Treaty of The Cities Terms

The terms included in the Treaty of the Cities are as follows:

  • An act of war against Nunavik shall be considered an act of war on Laurentia and vice-versa. Our nations shall stand united.
  • Laurentia and Nunavik (nation held by atTAboycARL, shall hereafter be under the sole banner of the Union of Laurentia. Nunavik shall become an incorporated state of the Union of Laurentia.
  • Residents of Nunavik shall be given citizenship in Laurentia and are held to all rules governing Laurentian citizens.
  • atTAboycARL shall act as territorial governor of Nunavik and reserve the right to counsel with the Chief Governor of Laurentia at any time should a disagreement or question arise.
  • A full referendum shall be had in Nunavik in order to challenge a Laurentia law and given a 65% majority, that law shall not apply in Nunavik. The only exception being the constitution of Laurentia which cannot be nullified.
  • Nunavik shall not coerce Laurentian towns to join it, and new towns in Nunavik must also comply with Laurentian border treaties.
  • Nunavik may not join any other nation or meganation
  • Nunavik leaves all current alliances and treaties, and shall become subject to all Laurentian treaties.

Ownership transfer

On July 8th of 2024, former owner aTAboycARL gave the nation of Manicouagan (named Nunavik at the time) to MasterEWild. MasterEWild immediately switched the capital to his town of Fort Aurelian and got straight to work writing the first democratic constitution of the nation. (Manicouagan/Nunavik peacefully broke away from Laurentia, nulling the Treaty of the Cities).

2.1

On May 6th, 2025, the Republic of Nunavik was 2.1d. 2.1 is the server rule which states that a nation must be named after a real place and the capital must be in that real place. Mods deemed that the Nunavik capital was not quite in the actual boundaries of Nunavik IRL, so renamed the nation to 2.1NotInNunavik. MasterEWild then opened a ticket with the mods and sent them a list of possible names to approve or deny. After a list was acquired, a bill was proposed in the Legislative Assembly to select a new name. The assembly voted for the name of Cree in a 3-2 vote. The mod handling the ticket then renamed the nation, but a staff manager deemed that the name Cree wasn't valid after the rename. Because of this, Nunavik (then Cree) held another vote and decided on the name of Manicouagan. All references of the name Nunavik in this article, with the exception of the ones in this section, the Treaty of the Cities Terms section and a few other places have been replaced with Manicouagan, regardless of whether or not the nation was named Manicouagan at the time of the event.

Merge

On August 9th, 2025, following the ratification of the Tributary Treaty, the Republic of Manicouagan merged into the Republic of Cascadia, with all in game towns of the Republic of Manicouagan joining the in game nation of Cascadia. With this, the Manicouagan County was created as a county within Cascadia, with the Manicouagan County Charter as the it's guiding document.

Alliances

The Republic of Manicouagan was a member state of the Organization of Free Nations and the United Aurora Accord. Manicouagan had a mutual defense alliance and non-aggression pact with the ETRA alliance and held non-aggression pacts with the Pilbaran Empire, the United States Empire, the Republic of Colima, the Icelandic Commonwealth, Mackenzie (formerly NWT), France, the USA, Canada, and Canadian Prairies. Note the non-aggression pact with Mackenzie was signed prior to Mackenzie's war declaration on Manicouagan's ally, Cascadia.

Spawn Building

Right at /n spawn Manicouagan was a beautiful shop building made with walls of moss and green concrete powder, majestic deepslate pillars and a textured spruce roof. All these features and more make it an appealing spawn building for the nation.

Aurelian Archives

Within Fort Aurelian, the capital of Manicouagan there was a building known as the Aurelian Archives. MasterEWild commissioned spirtualmilk to create the building to display diverse history. The building serves as a museum of Fort Aurelian, cataloging its history and thus Manicouagan's history.

Laurentian Museum

In the capital of Manicouagan, Fort Aurelian, there was a museum dedicated to the former nation of Laurentia, striving to keep Laurentia's history alive.

Torngat Museum

The capital of Manicouagan also holds a museum dedicated to the history of the former nation of Torngat, Laurentia's ally. The museum had artifacts, books and maps found in the ruins of the capital of Torngat.

National Gear and Resource Reserve

Under the building holding the Laurentian Museum was the National Gear Reserve which holds gear given to Manicouagan residents for free if they meet certain requirements. To get down to the room, you must ride a redstone elevator. The same building also houses the National Resource Reserve, a similar program which holds resources like blocks and items instead of armor.

Fort Aurelian Underground

Though not a building, the capital of Manicouagan, Fort Aurelian contains a mystical and nature themed underground, adding to the town's overall atmosphere.
