Wheeling is a town in the Commonwealth of America, part of the informally-named Pittsburgh Metro cluster in Pennsylvania. Founded by Artihst on August 17, 2026, Wheeling is a Rust Belt urbanist revival project named for the mayor's mother's hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia, recreating several of that city's historic landmarks.

History

Wheeling was founded on August 17, 2026, joining the Commonwealth of America the following day. It was built alongside the neighboring towns of Pittsburgh (mayor Moxicodone) and Allegheny (mayor Yapannn), forming the informal "Pittsburgh Metro" cluster. Rather than three unrelated towns, the metro is a deliberate collaboration: despite differing build styles between the three mayors, the group has aimed to make the towns read as one continuous "urban fabric," including a shared street grid, a canal, and an ice rail line linking Wheeling and Pittsburgh. A joint civic building shared between all three towns has been proposed but not yet built. During the Chicago crisis, Wheeling and Pittsburgh briefly joined New York before rejoining America on August 18, 2026.

Notable buildings

Wheeling recreates several landmarks of its real-world namesake, Wheeling, West Virginia:

  • Wheeling Suspension Bridge[1]
  • Centre Market Building[2]
  • Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Terminal (West Virginia Northern Community College)[3][4]
  • Heritage Port[5]
  • Windsor Hotel[6]
  • German Bank of Wheeling (Laconia Building)[7]
  • Cathedral of St. Joseph[8]
  • Marsh Wheeling Stogies Factory[9]
  • Bridgeport Bridge[10]

Planned

  • Capitol Theatre / Capitol Music Hall (Majority Block)[11]
  • Baer's Sons Grocery Company Warehouse (Boury Warehouse Lofts)[12]

Infrastructure

Wheeling's underground network includes automated farms, a super smelter, an XP farm, and a mine spur, connected to Pittsburgh by an ice rail line. A canal and street grid also link Wheeling to neighboring Allegheny, part of the shared Pittsburgh Metro road network.
