Verona is a town and canton in Switzerland, located in Northern Italy. It is one of the largest cantons in Switzerland by land area, contributed by it's six towns, Verona, Lombardy, Monza, Garda, Formula_One and Trento. The town of Verona is also one of the oldest on Terra Nostra, being founded on the 17th of April 2026 on the day of the server reset.

The canton of Verona is notable for it's contribution to sports. The town contains the Verona amphitheatre which is a multi-use 4x2 chunk stadium which plays host to King's League football as well as having the capacity for other sporting events. Monza, Lombardy and Formula_One all make up the Southern border of the town along the River Po upon which the Monza Racing Circuit plays host to the Italian Grand Prix for Nostra as part of the 2026 Formula 1 Championship as part of the ongoing Formula 1 Ice Boat Racing series. As well as this, Verona is the home town of F1rret and AkselV as well as former driver PieTheHead. Monza also contains the headquarters to the Formula 1 Vertza Racing Team.

History

Server opening

Verona was founded on the day of the opening of Terra Nostra by Swiss nobleman F1rret. Original plans for the city focused on East-West expansion from the Western coast of Lake Garda to Venice in the East as well as a Northern rail-line into the Alps and Zurich. The unexpected arrival of Venice meant that the direction of Verona changed to North-South, marked by the first building, the Verona train station, which entered traffic from the West and Ticino. The rapid Westward expansion of Venice to claim the region of Veneto in place of Verona caused concern in Switzerland after the Venetians claimed across the River Adige at a pace massively outperforming that of the Swiss. Overextension in the West from Venice allowed Verona's ruling class to claim the town of Veneto and Venice itself, bringing Venice to negotiations.

Successful negotiations between the two cities agreed Verona's Eastern border and created diplomatic channels, allowing the territories to be evenly distributed. Despite focusing on expansion, Verona's leadership did contribute to the creation of Switzerland, most notably through AkselV who was able to use his position as co-mayor to focus on national development over local. Verona subsequently joined Switzerland however regularly joined Sicily to help expansion.
