Matrand

Matrand is a small, but elegant town, located in Western Sweden. This town claims not to specialize in anything yet, however, there are plenty of things that make it unique. It is the only town with a proper train station. It is also the only town to have a church. It was founded by _CrA6914, with help from NordicFenris, on July 13, 2019.

History

Being such a young town, it does not have much of a history at the time. What is known is that an agreement was made between _CrA6914 and NordicFenris: in return for financial aid to make the town, Matrand joined the nation of the Kalmar Union. Since being created, the town has had a connection to the Trans-Scandinavian Railway built to it and that it has directly led to another town being invited to the nation. Recently, when a player named Nindu arrived in the town, he was mistaken as a raider but was actually a trader. This marks the first time that the army has officially been called out to assist a town in the nation. This encounter led to King NordicFenris reaching out to the town of Hardanger.

Architecture

The Grand Church

Matrand is the only town to have a church. This all the more unique when you realize that Christians are an incredibly small demographic within the country.

The Tower of Light

This is the tallest building in Matrand at 24 blocks high. This was built in the town center in order to put Matrand on the map, and it shows. This building was ornately designed by _CrA6914.

Transportation

Matrand Metro

This system is being proposed to connect the Railway Station to other destinations. However, the town will need to grow more before the construction of the system can start.

Matrand Railway Station

Matrand railway station is located west of the town. It connects up with the Trans-Scandinavian Railway and connects to four other towns. Currently, a freight railway yard is being proposed and planned and will connect to these four towns and possible international towns as well.

Western Scandinavian Highway Network Project

The Western Scandinavian Highway Network (WSHN) Project will be composed of 5 highways, each connecting Western Scandinavia with elevated/ground level highways in order to increase the economic growth of each town/nation and hopefully increase the trade as well. WSHN1 connects Matrand to Oslo and Hardanger and WSHN2 connects Matrand with Gothenburg in the south. WSHN3 Will connect Matrand to Skratta and both WSHN4 and 5 is still in its planning phase.

Matrand - Oslo - Hardanger Highway (WSHN1)

Also known as ESHN1, this highway is a part of the Eastern Scandinavian Highway Network and connects Matrand with major national and international cities with Gothenburg not being claimed by a nation and Olso being British. The entrance to the highway is located at the east of the town and will hopefully connect to more cities/towns in the future.

Matrand - Gothenburg Highway (WSHN2)

The first highway built in Matrand, this connects the landlocked town of Matrand to the coastal city of Gothenburg. This increases the economic growth of both cities and potentially their nations respectively. This highway also allows Matrand to access the water and coastal values and allows for Gothenburg to access the forests in the heart of Sweden.
