Sometime around February 2017, Dutch, or at least Dutch-speaking settlers in search for gold settled in the Caucasus just on the south side of the Southwest Yanska River, and despite their proximity to the ocean and other bodies of water, they did little to no fishing. Their economy was dominated by the mining industry, as seen from their large, elaborate mines in comparison to their farms and other means of production for foods. Shortly after founding their town, they joined the International Union (Or possibly some other globalist nation), and stayed with them for a couple of months. During this period and for the rest of Pre-Eskimo history, the town ceased expansion.

Their economy was dominated by the mining industry, as seen from their large, elaborate mines in comparison to their farms and other means of production for foods, and they stayed independent for a long time. During this period and for the rest of Pre-Eskimo history, the town ceased expansion.

During April, 2017, the town joined the nation of Kazan. The people of Pre-Eskimo Riktofground proved themselves to be anything but quitters, as they stayed with Kazan through thick and thin until there was no more Kazan to fight for.
During April, 2017, the town joined some Moscow-based nation. The people of Pre-Eskimo Riktofground proved themselves to be anything but quitters, as they stayed with their nation through thick and thin until there was no more Kazan to fight for.

After April, the nation of Kazan* started to fall into decline (*this may not be accurate, as Riktofground may have joined a different nation by then), until it collapsed once and for all, and Riktofground went down with it. The city was badly raided and bombed (presumably by the PWW), and in a blind rage, the mayor disbanded the town and its many citizens. Only to be rediscovered by Alaskan settlers mere weeks later.
After April, the nation started to fall into decline. Alas, it collapsed once and for all, and Riktofground went down with it. The city was badly raided and bombed (presumably by the PWW), and in a blind rage, the mayor disbanded the town and its many citizens. Only to be rediscovered by Alaskan settlers mere weeks later.

On July 22nd, 2017, Alaskan settlers looking for new lands and opprotunities found the long-abandoned town and decided to settle there, thus starting the first age of the Eskimo Era, not long after the town of Abkhazia was founded.

When the very first Alaskans settled in Riktofground, the town was in ruins, robbed of all it's riches, and much work needed to be done. The very first thing the Riktofs did was rebuild the farms and the houses; an ambitious project that could not be accomplished overnight, causing most of the town to be glorified ruins during the Development Era. During this time, the people of Riktofground started to feel very strongly about the value of democracy, very much unlike their Abkhazian neighbors to the South, causing a slight distaste and distrust for Abkhazians and some others, which was fertile breeding ground for a much more war-like attitude to spread across the people of Riktofground [[Category:Towns]]
