The Siege of the Vatican was part of the [[Austrian Invasions of Europe]] lead by [[73beetle]]. [[73beetle]] had threatened to invade Jerusalem, and the Pope responded saying not to do so. In response [[Austria]] invaded the [[Papal State]]. The Pope recruited militia from the then new town of [[Tortugas]]. The battle was a stalemate mostly, where Papal forces tried caging Austrians within the walls of the vatican and killing them. After a long battle, Austrian forces withdrew to Vienna. It was considered a victory for the Papal forces as they suffered fewer casualties and prevented the demise of the Pope.
