Madagascar is a country and sovereign state located in South Africa on Terra Nostra. The third iteration of the Madagascar Empire in EarthMC, the nation is currently led by MR_GR3EN. The primary languages of the nation are English (primarily spoken by the community living on the Madagascar mainland) and French (primarily spoken by the community living on the outer islands of Madagascar [Comoros, Réunion and Mauritius]). Madagascar is a member state of the African Union alongside Nubia, Egypt, Mauretania, and Lake Victoria.
History
Madagascar is Founded
Madagascar was first created on April 17, 2026. Initial plans were to build a city along the north river, with the city of Madagascar being created on this date. However, after discussion by the Chancellory, the decision was made to move the capital to the area that now makes up Antananarivo. The nation was later established on April 20, 2026 after players reached the 5,120 gold required. Approximately 15-20 players joined and participated in Madagascar activities during the Premium era, which lasted from 17 April to 1 May.
During this time, Madagascar became a member of the African Union, alongside Nubia and Egypt.
Nostra Public Release
Population Explosion
Upon release of the server to the public on 1 May, the nation quickly grew. Within 48 hours, the nation tripled to over 60 residents, which qualified the nation for a bonus of 50 per town. This made Madagascar one of the most rapidly growing nations on the server.
Lake Victoria "Balls" Incident
On May 3, 2026, Lake Victoria announced a declaration of war against Madagascar for "going against Big Cow." Lake Victoria, who at the time was allied with Madagascar, caught some residents by surprise. This would also mark the first time that Madagascar had a war declared against them since the Manchuria-Madagascar Scuffle of 2019. In response, the Chancellery posted this picture entitled, "Balls", which features a character from a popular TV show. This was viewed by outside observers as a rejection of the declaration, primarily due to Madagascar's status as a peaceful nation.
Government
Madagascar is a Parliamentary Monarchy. Members of Parliament are generally town mayors, as well as any active players who participate in the server. MPs can propose legislation, which is voted on each Friday (unless it is during an election week, in which case, the legislation is tabled until after the election.) An election is held every 120 days for Prime Minister, who leads the executive branch of the Government in relation to interior and commerce affairs.
First Government of Lenore
In the week of May 15, 2026, the first election for Prime Minister was held. There were two candidates: - FFJerry23 (MFP) - LenoreXB (Ind.)
After voting (and several spoiled ballots), Lenore was declared the winner of the contested election. Lenore is the current Prime Minister, who will lead the Government until elections are held again in September.
