Padania is a settlement located near the Po river, in the northern region of the Italian peninsula.

History

The flattening

First phase of the flattening, 1 September 2026 – Turolatias

Since the foundation of the town, the territory has been subjected to a flattening effort, to connect it to the region of the Pianura Padana and expand it.

The river restoration

Before the town founding, the riverbed had been dug out and was riddled with holes and caves. It is thought that the excavation took place in order to obtain clay and mud, of which the riverbed is rich.

On September 9 2026 the mayor Turolatias expressed his intention to restore the river:
«We can't leave the river in this state.»
In the same day the process of drying and filling the holes started, restoring the riverbed and preserving its course.
