Aurora:The Great Australian Wars

The Great Australian Wars refer to a series of conflicts in the Australian continent, mainly between the meganations of Australia, Pilbara and Oceania. Initially beginning on the 10th of November 2023 with the creation and rebellion of Pilbara, the war would come to an end on the 25th of April 2024 with the signing of the Treaty of Albury between Australia, Pilbara and Oceania.

Origins Ever since the beginning of Nova, the Australian Continent had been dominated by two main meganations. Victoria, which by the time of the beginning of the war was inactive, and Australia, who had been the regional power for over a year. Following large rebellions in Terra Nova such as the Down Under Rebellion and the New Holland Rebellion, Australia had an informal foreign policy of trying at all costs to prevent new nations being made on the continent, usually via threats, or by buying nation owners off either making them leave, or making them join the Australian Meganation.

The First Australian-Pilbara War The first major Australian rebel nation of Pilbara was created on on November 10th, made from the former Australian town of Onslow_bay by mostly former Nova Sudanese players kobiKraft, UnitiveBog10934 and GalaxyGaming2000 and funded by Brazil. Very quickly, Pilbara would declare full independence from Australia.

Australian diplomacy with Pilbara would quickly break down, as Australia demanded Pilbara rejoin the meganation as a colony, whereas Pilbara demanded Australia recognise its independence and agree to a border with them. The first major battle of the war was on November 23rd, when kobiKraft attacked and killed two Australian Government Officials, Cap_Worm and Hetansh11 who had both been outside of Onslow_bay breaking down trees and building wooden penises.

After this, negotiations for a peace treaty began, led by kobiKraft and UnitiveBog10934 from Pilbara, and thebandit08, Gaggy and GabeTheInsomniac on the Australian side. negotiations would stall, as the Australians were planning to place towns near Onslow_bay in what was codenamed "Operation Hydraulic Press". However, following the unexpected doxxing of Australian King GabeTheInsomniac and Prime Minister thebandit08 on the 8th of December, which left Gaggy as King, and Panth_r as Prime Minister. Negotiations would stall for another three weeks, as Operation Hydraulic Press was still planned, however, the plan was eventually scrapped, with Panth_r drafting a peace deal which was voted on in the Australian Parliament, and agreed upon, which was accepted by Pilbara on the 31st of December 2023, marking the end of the First Australian-Pilbaran War.

The Oceania Rebellion Following the end of the First Australian-Pilbaran War, Panth_r, thebandit08 and GabeTheInsomniac (Now Doctor14), decided to form their own nation seperate from Australia. After obtaining the nation of Oceania from 323Two on January 12th 2024, GabeTheSavior and Panth_r took 4000G, as well as the head collection of SCOBlade and Gabe. Oceania formally declared its independence from Australia on the same day, marking the beginning of the conflict.

Oceania would quickly sign an alliance with Pilbara on the 13th of January, beginning the close alliance between Pilbara and Oceania against Australia. Several towns and nations of Australia would also rebel and join Oceania, notably North Melbourne, led by LCGau, Goulburn led by Crocheting, and Lamu led by CocoPopMan123.

In the following weeks, Oceania would rapidly grow, overtaking Australia by resident count on January 25th 2024. On the same day, Oceania, along with Pilbara would both join the alliance of NATO, which would assist Oceania during several battles in the war, noteably the Siege of Simpson. On the 4th of February 2024, Oceania became the largest nation on the Australian Continent by residents, on the same day, two new colonies would join Oceania. Orinoco, a nation scammed by thebandit08 and Panth_r, which would later be sold to Honduras_ and would become Vermont, and NSW, led by LiterallyADonut who had defected. Oceania would also sign a Non Aggression Pact with the nearby nation of Tassie.

The Battle of Booderee, the first major PVP battle between Oceania and Australia would occur on the 4th of February, between Panth_r, Toastedbread812, GabeTheSavior and thebandit08 on the Oceanian Side against SCOBlade, Gaggy and the mayor of Booderee Thatseanplayer. The battle would end in an Oceanian Victory, with SCOBlade and Gaggy retreating, and Thatseanplayer being killed, and his items being taken.

Following this, Oceania would begin to decline, as GabeTheSavior became inactive, eventually stepping down as King on March 12th, handing the position over to Panth_r. Thebandit08 would also leave shortly after, due to him not agreeing with several reforms Panth_r was introducing in Oceania, seeing them as dictatorial. This would come to a head on March 29th, when Oceania officially merged with Pilbara, with the nation shortly after being given to thebandit08, who declared neutrality in the war.

The Second Australian-Pilbaran War Following the end of the First Australian-Pilbaran War, Pilbara felt unsatisfied, and felt limited by the small border it had been given in the initial peace treaty. With the growth of Oceania at the expense of Australia, Pilbara began expanding outside of its border, officially leaving the border agreement with Australia on the 10th of February, however they would not officially declare war on Australia until the 23rd of March, 4 days before Oceania would join Pilbara.

Pilbara would quickly get to work in the war, swiftly planting two overclaim towns on Freddo, the largest Australian town by chunks which was named Whitlam, and the town of ScoMo was made next to the Australian capital of Coober Pedy. Australia attempted to defend CooberPedy, by recruiting citizens to ensure it could not be overclaimed, however a propaganda campaign by mainly GabeTheSavior and Panth_r targeting new residents of Coober saw success, causing several new residents of CooberPedy to leave. On April 15th, the Australian towns of CooberPedy, JavaScript and Freddo would be overclaimed by Pilbara. Swiftly after this, an ceasefire would be declared, and both sides would begin discussing peace. On the 25th of April, the Treaty of Albury would be signed, officially ending the Second Australian-Pilbaran war.

The treaty created demarkation zones around large towns, with rules against town placements in those areas. There was also a term stipulating that towns had to have at least a 5 chunk distance between all towns. The treaty also saw overclaim towns being sold to Australia, with Whitlam being sold to Zenvy, who renamed it to Wadland, and ScoMo (Now Sunshine_Coast) being sold to Gaggy.
