Mattbob153

Mattbob153 (joined August 26th, 2021) is a notable EarthMC player, known for being the first and only leader of the nation on Indiana on Terra Aurora, and being the second mayor of Philadelphia on Terra Nostra.

Terra Nova

Mattbob153's journey on EarthMC began in August of 2021, where him and a few friends who migrated from a Roblox community established a town in Costa Rica. This town did not last long as they remained focused on Roblox, and with the town not being fully claimed it was griefed on a few occasions. While the rest of his friends never rejoined, Mattbob153 rejoined Terra Nova twice, once in early January of 2022 when he found the town in Costa Rica completely empty and as a result moved to a town in the Caribbean, and then again in April of 2022 when he found his house in the Caribbean occupied by someone else. Around this time, Mattbob153 learned of the looming reset and messaged a few IRL friends about creating a town in the new server.

Terra Aurora

Mattbob153 begun plans to create the town of St. Louis on Terra Aurora, and while no builds were designed prior to the server launch, the generic city outline was already drafted. However, as Mattbob153 was still gathering the gold required, the town was sniped sometime around May 20th. Mattbob153, now accompanied by the friends he invited, notably thickman, decided to move to New Albany, Indiana, and the town was founded on May 22nd, 2022. Initial plans had someone else making the town of Louisville, Kentucky, which would become the population center while New Albany held mansions and the town elites, however this never came to fruition and New Albany remained the sole town. The town joined the nation of United_States, as it was the dominant nation in the region at the time and had a very active nation spawn, however on July 6th, 2022, New Albany switched to the nation of Niagara as they were becoming hyper-active and were holding several cool pvp arena events among other things. Mattbob153 and the other members of New Albany had their sights set on creating their own nation from the very beginning, and bought a few expensive shop plots in New York City to try and achieve the gold required for a nation. However, New York City would end up razing each shop Mattbob153 would build, as well as looting everything within it as Mattbob153 would watch helplessly having his permissions to the plot removed. These experiences in NYC changed Mattbob153's perception of EarthMC and cemented his belief that anything he did outside of his town claims would be a waste of time, and that he could never truly trust anyone on the server. After searching for a place to construct a new shop, Mattbob153 found the city of Detroit, capital of Michigan. After purchasing a shop plot and checking out the town he discovered they were in need of a builder to construct Michigan Central Station. As a rail enthusiast, Mattbob153 seized the opportunity and contacted the leader of Michigan. Over the next two weeks in late July and early August of 2022, Mattbob153 worked to construct the station and was paid 1000g for his work, which was enough to cover the rest of the cost for the nation. On August 14th, 2022, the nation of Indiana was established by Mattbob153. Even though the nation was created, it didn't do a whole lot for Mattbob153 or the other residents of New Albany. thickman and the other residents had gone offline after getting bored of the game, and with such a random town it was hard to recruit. Mattbob153 became semi-inactive, logging on once or twice a month to restock his shops. Around January of 2023, the town of Indianapolis was formed directly to the north of New Albany. This town had a pretty active playerbase of around 10 people, and Mattbob153 gave them resources and assistance as the town was developed. This didn't last long, as the town went inactive just a little over a month later. Around June of 2023, Mattbob153 decided to claim the former area of the town of Indianapolis to prevent further grief and he worked to restore the buildings. He also renamed the town of New Albany to Indianapolis to try and help his chances of recruiting, as well as to signify that it was the capital of Indiana. Around the same time, another IRL friend named __naagy joined. While he never officially joined Indiana, __naagy worked with Mattbob153 to restock his shops and Mattbob153 would provide resources for __naagy's bases. For the rest of Terra Aurora's lifespan, Mattbob153 would increasingly get more inactive while __naagy would jump across North America making town after town. Despite offering Indianapolis and the nation of Indiana to __naagy, he repeatedly declined leaving Mattbob153 as the sole leader of Indiana on Terra Aurora.

Terra Nostra

By August of 2025, Mattbob153 and __naagy, who were now re-accompanied by thickman, started developing plans for what town to make after the server would reset. They very quickly landed on Philadelphia, as it was close to home for all three. __naagy had always wanted to make Philadelphia, however it was occupied or ruined for most of Terra Aurora and Mattbob153 was committed to maintaining Indiana. In December of 2025, Mattbob153 began designing a few buildings that they would make once the town was formed, using his old design world from Aurora where he designed Michigan Central Station. By the time Terra Nostra opened for early access, Mattbob153 had designed Independence Hall, Reading Terminal, and a few rowhome designs. __naagy decided to purchase premium in order to receive early access to the server to ensure he would be the first one to take the town of Philadelphia, as they could not afford losing the town to someone else. While __naagy worked to gather resources and constructed Independence Hall, Mattbob153 wouldn't join until the server opened to the public on May 1st, 2026. Mattbob153 immediately became the second-in-command of Philadelphia, and worked as the city planner under __naagy. Having significantly more experience than __naagy on EarthMC, Mattbob153 would basically run the town under __naagy as the town heavily grew in size and population. In early June of 2026, Mattbob153 and __naagy would join the nation of America discord to involve themselves in the politics of the nation. Philadelphia joined the nation of America at the very beginning during early access as it was the first and only nation __naagy could join at the time. While __naagy made quick enemies with several people and never participated in the government, Mattbob153 became a Representative in the 2nd and 3rd Congress and would join the Cabinet as Secretary of Public Works under Presidents sayerleft and Flippizzacake. During his term he would construct a national shop and oversee icerail construction. During this time, Mattbob153 was also dealing with a situation on the border of Philadelphia, as __naagy had pissed off the nation of USA led by the town of Delaware, leading to a claimblocking incident on the southwest border of the city. Mattbob153 would officially take control of Philadelphia and become its second mayor on July 1st, 2026. While the war with the USA ended on August 2nd, 2026 after the USA sold off its remaining towns leading to the purchase of the claimblock of Pennsylvania, the city of Philadelphia had been severely altered as a result. __naagy had initially planned to construct a stadium on the south side of town, but due to the claimblock the stadium had to be moved out west and the south and west side of town had to be completely redesigned. Since __naagy and thickman have gone inactive as a result of the USA war, Mattbob153 decided to step away from the nation's politics and focus on running Philadelphia, along with city council members alktat, yergmite, and formerly VreikOG who has since left to construct Broken Bow, Nebraska, and become the 4th President of America.
