The Emperor and Autocrat of Russia is the highest position in the Russian Empire and the title of the Russian monarch. The position and title are transferred exclusively by inheritance by the decision of the previous monarch.
The imperial title was adopted after the unification of Russia and Tsarist Russia into the Russian Empire and at first was dualistic, but since Elgik, the title of emperor is borne by one person.
