The NeverHood

Appearing suddenly in the middle of nowhere, this city that would have been Brno of Czechoslovakia became Salzburg of Austria then evaporated into nothing. The single colonist became a dissident refugee displaced by political turmoil in a unrelated dispute in a country far away. Likely the land will soon be absorbed or divided by the nearby waring factions. A new line will be painted on a map somewhere and what few structures were built will sink into the ground.
