Nova:Ioslainn
Ioslainn originated to serve as a /n spawn for Irish colonies in Iceland, it has since declared independence from Ireland. Ioslainn means Iceland in Irish-Gaelic. A nation that existed in Iceland from 7th July 2020 to 7th February 2022.
History
Ioslainn was founded by thecliffcommndr on July 7th, 2020. Though the nation is much older than that, that is its official founding date, as that is the day it went from being FollowNameRules to Ioslainn. Also on that day, the nation of ísland was founded. Ioslainn and ísland originally encountered verbal conflict, peace was soon made after Hagey21 struck up a conversation with ísland leader, MandaIore, (now Cha_ad) talks of forming a dual government soon started, and now ísland is Ioslainn's closest ally. Ioslainn was originally only one town, New Cashel, but 6 days later, on the 13th, New Shannon joined. The completion of the New Shannon Town Hall occurred on the 23rd of July, 2020. On August 5th, 2020, Hagey21 purchased the town of Stonehaven (located in northern Iceland) from the UK, it soon was renamed to New Ennis, and joined Ioslainn. MadMaxChips596, an active citizen of New Shannon, became the mayor of New Ennis. Exactly one month after New Shannon joined Ioslainn, on the 13th of August, 2020, New Kildare joined. On August 23rd, Ioslainn officially declared independence from Ireland, and King thecliffcommndr ordered all Irish flags to be taken down, and retired. On September 16th, 2020, Hagey21 purchased the town of Liverpool (located in northern Iceland) from the UK for an undisclosed amount of gold. It remained part of the UK for two days, until the 18th, when it was renamed to New Cork, and joined Ioslainn. Hagey21 is New Cork's current mayor.
Early History
The nation itself started as Dundas. It originally had two towns, Pengun_Empire and Home_Depot. It was renamed to FollowNameRules by mods as it violated Rule 4.1. On the 17th of June, EchoOcelot gave the nation to thecliffcommndr, as the person he was originally going to give it to was offline at the time. A ticket was made by thecliffcommndr to have the nation renamed, and on July 7th 2020, moderator johnsonk2 renamed the nation to Ioslainn. Ioslainn as we know it was born from 3 Irish colonies on Iceland, New Cashel, New Shannon, and New Kildare. Originally made to be a extension of Ireland, just so the Irish colonies on Iceland could have a /n spawn, the three colonies soon became almost fully functional without Ireland, as Ireland had gone inactive. Ioslainn later declared independence from Ireland.
Government
Ioslainn has a dual government with the nation of ísland, government structure is still being discussed.
Military
Ioslainn has a small militia of about 5 people. Ioslainn heavily relies on allies if a conflict would ever arise. However, Ioslainn is completely peaceful nation.
Buildings
Ioslainn has many amazing buildings in its towns. Most notably, the New Shannon Town Hall, the New Shannon Lighthouse, and the famous turf homes also located in New Shannon. New Kildare also has many historical ruins, including Toadally's Hallgrimskirkja, rumored to have been built in 2018. Lastly, the town of New Cork is home to one of Iceland's largest ruins.
