Aurora:Dutch-Guiana

Dutch-Guiana (Dutch: Nederlandsch-Guyana) is a small colonial nation in the north of South America. Its name is derived from the indigenous word ‘guyana’ (land of many rivers) and the settlers that originated from the Netherlands. Its population mainly consists of traders, builders, and fishermen. They are known as having a strong sense of self-determination, some even showing a dwarven attitude. With its capital of New-Amsterdam on the mainland, Dutch-Guiana seeks to diplomatically expand throughout the north of the continent.
History
After the founding of the town of New-Amsterdam on June 24th, 2024, and with the independence from Brazil, the nation of Dutch-Guyana was created on July 16th. On July 20th, the very first outsider town, Tabago, joined the nation. After that, other towns had joined as well, some of which sprouted from New-Amsterdam.
On December 28, 2024, JuztinVestigium donated the capital New-Amsterdam to the EMC Catholic Church, by transferring power to Fr. Letgamerman. This started a new era for the capital and the nation.
This era is seen as the Catholic era for the Nation by Letgamerman. He plans to expand the nation in territory and diplomatically.
Independence from Brazil
The independence gained, after breaking off from Brazil, had sadly caused some friction between the two nations. On July 16th, a Brazilian player named Floppy77 created a siegetown on New-Amsterdam’s border, including hostile signs, anti-Catholic symbols like a burning St. Peter’s Cross, slander in local chat and defilement of the horizon due to a floating dirt platform. The situation even led Brazil to using spies to forward Discord messages and bribing the king of Columbia to buy Dutch-Guiana out. Brazil’s emperor, Olivio90 and Count ConfiqSon, having had tough conversations, eventually ended in a stalemate over the siegetown next to New-Amsterdam. After some more talk, Dutch-Guiana had reached a status quo on July 27th, since neither sides wanted war. However, after some time players on both sides killed each other. After having several Brazilian mediators, the Holy Catholic EMC Church offered to act as a neutral partner for peace talks. These negotiations started on July 29th, but sadly stranded on August 6th. Dutch-Guiana insisted that the siegetown would be removed, but Brazil demanded to annex two Dutch-Guianan towns and apologies for publicly spreading memes that mocked the Brazilian negotiation tactics. Dutch-Guiana did not accept these terms. On Christmas’ Eve, 2024, the siegetown had finally gone and thus the conflict was over. In order to start with a clean slate, Juztinvestigium handed down rulership to an EMC priest of the Catholic Church, Letgamerman.
Catholic Era
As Dutch-Guiana starts to progress down the path of a Catholic nation with democratic parts and a Rector Serving life or until incapacitation. The capital of the nation is currently decided to be the headquarters for the future Diocese of Guiana.
Government
New Goverment
The new government for the nation is a Democratic Theocracy. It is governed by the Rector and two bodies of the Parliament: the Religous Council and the National Assembly. This is to continue to allow citizens to help the nation while maintaining to the Catholic ties. Catholicism is the official religion of the nation, while other religions are accepted and welcomed. Currently members of the religious council can serve on Parliament untill the interim clause is lifted. Once the Interim clause is lifted members of the religious council are prohibited to be on the parliament ballot or requested to be on the ballot.
Religious Council
These members are appointed by the Rector and to serve for life or in capitation. These members consist of JuztinVestigium, Donkey7720, and Augnogdrinker.
Parliament
The first elected Parliament for the nation of Dutch Guiana was introduced on 1/8/25. They were elected by the people to serve for 2 months. They consist of : JuztinVestigium, Christastick, Confiqson, Donkey7720, and ThePacito.
Old Goverment
The political structure of Dutch-Guiana is a continuation of New-Amsterdam’s. This means that the triumvirate of the council, made up of ConfiqSon, JuztinVestigium and Christastick, is in merocratic control in service of its citizens. Newcomers can attain citizenship by appealing to one of the council members, which, when successfully initiated, will result in the right have a personal quarter, the possibility to set up shop, and acces the Discord channels.

Military
In principle, Dutch-Guiana does not seek out war and therefore does not have an army. It may, however, call to arms when it is threatened in its self-determination. The current Army grand Commander if needed to call to arms is Confiqson.
Architecture
While every town in Dutch-Guiana is free to determine its own building style, the nation’s capital is themed as an early Dutch colony. Its main architect, JuztinVestigium, aimed to do some fully tailored city planning. This includes immersive green paths, a meaningful position of the St. T. Aquinas Catholic Church and other buildings, and paying attention to details. Note that not all buildings have been built by JuztinVestigium, so always check the signs in front of or on edifices to read who the actual architect was.
Embassies
On August 3rd 2024, Pelhina built the first physical embassy in the capital. Pelhina is a resident of Matsubara, a Japanese town. No embassies are currently within the towns.
