Cabinet of Aragon
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In Aragon, the Cabinet is an institution whose powers and functions vary depending on the form of government in force, as stipulated by the Constitution of Aragon. When an oligarchic system is adopted, the Cabinet exercises both executive and legislative authority. Under a parliamentary system, by contrast, the Cabinet functions exclusively as the executive branch of government.
The Cabinet is composed of the Prime Minister and the Ministers. The basic structure of the Cabinet, as well as the procedures for selection, appointment, and dismissal of its members, are defined by the Constitution of Aragon and the Cabinet Act.
As of December 2025, the incumbent government is the First Senninn Cabinet.
Overview
The Cabinet is formed around the Prime Minister. Any member who has not participated in the server for 14 consecutive days and has failed to respond to dialogue is automatically deemed to have lost their office.
The establishment and abolition of ministerial posts fall under the authority of the King and the Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 13 of the Cabinet Act. However, the Prime Minister must obtain the King’s approval in all cases when creating or abolishing a ministry. The same requirement applies to the appointment and dismissal of ministers.
Cabinet Meeting
The Cabinet Meeting is regarded as the most important institution under the Constitution and the Cabinet Act. A majority vote in the Cabinet Meeting is required on a wide range of matters, including administrative policy, the composition of the Cabinet, responses to national crises, succession issues in the event of a minister’s absence, and, under a parliamentary system, the convocation of the legislature, while under an oligarchic system, the drafting of legislation.
In the event that votes are evenly split, proposals are, in principle, rejected in order to avoid a division within the Cabinet. The King retains the right to exercise a veto over Cabinet decisions.
