Bucharest was founded by Bluwu101 on 18 April 2026 during the pre-launch period of Terra Nostra. It was one of the first Romanian towns in the region and quickly became the most politically important settlement of the future Romanian state.
During the early period, several other Romanian towns existed across the Carpathians and along the Danube, but Bucharest became the center of organization for the Romanian political movement. The Bucharest Council helped create the early Romanian Union, which later developed into the Kingdom of Carpathia.
As the capital, Bucharest played a central role in the election of the first Voievod of the Romanians and in the formation of the Romanian government. Following the foundation of Carpathia on 29 May 2026, Bucharest became the official capital city of the new nation.
