Matthew_Hodges is a player who first signed on in January of 2020, took a break from July to focus back on an anarchy server, and returned in November to start playing again.

Early History (Jan. to Feb.)

Spawning in Bangladesh

Matthew_Hodges originally joined under the name 1203927 in Nepal, made some basic tools, and walked eastwards to Bangladesh and from there, China. He still had no concept of the teleportation system at the time.

Entrance Into Qing

Once he joined the server, he was invited into the nation of Qing by Mr_X1234 into LiaoYang (now fallen and claimed by Japan) and got his first taste of what it was like to live in a nation. From there he was given a set of armor and built up gold and armor.

Death in Fiji

Around this time in February of 2020, Matthew (at the time called "Mat") was in one of the voice channels, and teleported to Fiji due to one of the people in the Qing voice call saying there was "Free stone". However, he was unaware of MineTurtle795's activities there, and was killed there with a nearly-God set of armor, God Axe, God Pickaxe, and Mending/Unbreaking III Shield. This led to subsequent trust issues, with him keeping most of his gear (unless needed) in his Ender Chest most of the time, along with a backup set of armor.

Mid-Year (March-July)

Transfer to Qiqihar

Around March of 2020, Matthew_Hodges moved over to Qiqihar, soon becoming a Councilor and right-hand man for PotatoInSpace. After a certain point in this month, Potato was able to purchase the now-defunct nation of Gold_Coast in West Africa, subsequently tranferring ownership over to Mat. This all came to a head on April 1st, 2020 when PotatoInSpace gave the order to delete the town as there was no need for it, which was followed.

Turmoil in Qiqihar

Directly after this, the news was reported to the Emperor of Qing (Mr_X1234), who was angry due to the loss of a strategic town. He quickly ordered Mat to reclaim the town with him, and Mat complied. Escorted by Mr_X and with an invisibility effect on the Dynmap, the town was partly reclaimed. However soon afterwards, the town was deleted due to a glitch. The gold was refunded but Mr_X let Mat keep the funds due to his migration over to Qing's own towny server.

Migration to the Philippines

Before the Qing nation disbanded but practically had already collapsed, 1203927 decided to move his items to an embassy in Pyongyang (at the time the Duel Republic of Korea) and created a town at the Northern tip of the Philippines at the spot of ruins, named Aparri. Here he led a life in solitude, ordering some cows, sheep, and bees along the way, but overall not mingling in the politics of the server. Eventually Aparri was invited to join Filipinas, mainly out of convenience and not out of particular association or loyalty.

End of Aparri

Due to Mat setting the main plot at Aparri as an "Inn", nearly everything he owned was stolen. This included a few Mending books, End Crystals, incomplete Diamond Armor sets, Turtle Eggs, Beehives, and more. From this Mat went into a lack of motivation to play, and logged off to let the town fall on its own.

New Beginnings (Nov. - Present)

Return to EarthMC

On November 19 of 2020, 1203927 returned to the server after months of inactivity under the new name Matthew_Hodges. When he returned, he saw many things had changed such as how Qing no longer existed, Korea was partly owned by Japan, and the Japanese continent wasn't united under one Nation, but three. From here he was invited to join Mersa of Nubia, and lived there for a relatively short time. Later in his time living in Nubia, he was able to obtain an embassy in Asia and transferred his items there, originally planning to make a new town inbetween Asia and LiaoYang. But just as luck had it, a gold drop was hosted in Madagascar, and from that Matthew gained 64 Gold Blocks along with some other items.

The Dornan Purchase

By another bout of luck, the player Kolleen was selling off their nation which was situated in Western China, at the time named 4.1ContactStaff due to a violation of Rule 4.1. From here Matthew_Hodges bought the town of Dornan, 4.1ContactStaff and renamed it to Guizhou, PRC.
