Sunflowerism
Sunflowerism is an ethnic religion in which the holy sunflower is praised, although various sects contest the definition of the holy sunflower. Before the great schism of Sunflowerism, the holy sunflower was found within the first chunk of Newark on November 1 2018, which is today New Jersey. Newarkers honored the Sunflower with a netherrack sign, as a creater of the town and its ultimate success under New Jersey. After the first shrine was demolished, a cobblestone tower, Sunflower Tower, was created for it. After being demolished in Newark's development, the final sunflower tower was constructed, where the Sunflower is today.
Baptism into the religion is done by placing individuals into a holy waterfall behind the Sunflower.
History
Spread
Sunflowerism spread regionally throughout the northeast USA in Newark's proximity, especially to locations such as New York and greatly within the United States today. Ohio has notably become a stronghold for Sunflowerism. Globally, some people have followed Sunflowerism as part of New Jersey's empire, such as Sri Lanka, but such instances are rare and Sunflowerism is no longer prevalent in such locations.
Sects
Sunflowerism has many sects, with the 2 main sects being Fat Bastardist Sunflowerism, and Traditional Sunflowerism.
Fast Bastardist Sunflowerism emerged in response to the prevalence of Fat Bastard suddenly in Newark, many believed Fat Bastard was thus the son of the Holy Sunflower. Such belief became universal in Newark, with Fat Bastard portraits being placed near the Sunflower (the holy tower is located in Newark) however Fat Bastardist Sunflowerism did not spread beyond Newark.
Traditional Sunflowerism remained in places such as New York due to Fat Bastard never having significant social influence there. Today, the two sects compete over the best way to honor the Sunflower, in addition to the obvious theological debate over the holiness of Fat Bastard. Traditional Sunflowerists have been constructing a new Cathedral in New York to rivil the Fat Bastardist held Sunflower tower, religious warfare seems impending.
The High Priest
Icebeqr has long been regarded as the high priest of Sunflowerism, and can communicate with the Sunflower. He has called for a religious ethnostate in New Jersey, which has been achieved. Below is an image of a church being exploded in New Jerseyian occupied Ohio.
