Savoie, Savoy (Kingdom of Savoy, fr. Royaume de Savoie, ger. Königreich von Savoie, lat. Regnum Sabaudiae is a nation located in the Alps, southern Europe. The capital of Savoy is Savoie, formally Chambéry. The current King of the nation is Thanamos.

Geography and topography

The territory is mainly composed of mountains (arround 95%). On the west, the french area are mostly plains and small hills. The climate is influenced by the Rhône and the Mistral wind which create depression and cold arround the area of Venaissin. The main territory is arround the Alps and the highest natural point of Europe : The Mont Blanc which peaks at 138 blocks height ( 4808 m in real life). On it's east, the territory is also at the limits of the "Austrian" Alps with the towns of Fritzens and Krn.

The north of the territory with Geneva is under the valley of Joux and the Swiss plateau. The Lemen lake constitue the major water point in the area and is the biggest natural lake of Europe.

The territory is poor in water ressources. Snow compose the majority of the territory which creates several issue for the agriculutural sector. Two major point of water are the Rhône and the Lemen Lake let Savoie people create different infrastructure to melt water and create canal.

The geological soil of Savoie is rich of minerals (Iron and coal). However in the globalized economy of EarthMC, these ressources are pointless and Savoie workers cannot compete against Mali producers for example.

The Nation of Savoie is an eclave without access to the see. It's neighbors are : in the west Vivarais, Francia and Ireland. On the south, Ireland, Monaco, Venice, Genoa and Austria. On the East mostly Austria and Styria. and on the North, also Austria, Netherlands, France and Switzerland..

History of Savoie

The early days of Savoie

On the launch day of Aurora, Thanamos, Vladie, Lamye and CorbeauNoiraud founded the town of Chambéry which will become Savoie. The original goal of this implentation was making a nation based of the IRL former border of the Kingdom of Piemont-Sardinia. Soon after, the first major build was made : The castle of the Counts of Savoie based on a Merovingian dungeon.

Soon after, serveral former members of Nova France came to join Savoie in order to settle their own towns. This is how trytry07 came in order to form Vivarais. However, Switzerland people blocked Savoie expansion. Therefore Thanamos become inactive and soon joined Rome in order to assist former Pope BenedictXVII. The town would remain inactive for over a year and let a succession of several individuals (Bisougai, Phoenix and M4GM4). During this era, the town of Savoie became a possession of the kingdom of Francia and nothing much changed. Several pesant came to build their mud house and start crops. However arround april 2023, Thanamos came back to Savoie and the real story of Savoie will start.

The era of the Duchy of Savoie

The independance from Francia and Papal States

The town of Savoie was just a very small town without developpement and houses. It was just a town to secure the border of the Alps. When Thanamos came back, the town was under Francia which back then was under the Papacy. Thanamos started to build up houses and renovate the castle of Savoie. He also build the first church of Savoie : Saint Michel Church.

Soon after, serveral people started joining back the town including former member of nova France such as Wide_Chungoos. He helped Thanamos build several houses and improve the city. However with the chaos inside French region and the conflict between Francia and France. King Vladie57 decided to leave Papal states and proclaim Savoie independance. This was the beginning of a new era of the town because Duke Thanamos would be able to expand freely without answering to anyone.

The "Escalade" against Geneva

After being humiliated for over a year by Switzerland, Thanamos decided it was time to take action against them. He launched a giant gold requisition among papal states and with the help of his friend Zwippex, he managed to purchase the town of Geneva and the nation of Switzerland. The town was given to one of Thanamos' trusted man : Bisougai and the nation was given to Zwippex. With the victory over Switzerland, this nation fell appart. In the next weeks, Savoie obtained the towns of Sion and Annecy for free after scamming Switzerland. Duke Thanamos said " You cannot scam a Swiss because they aren't human". Former Switzerland member Météofur went angry against Savoie and raided the town of Sion which caused 0 casualites but he managed to steal the storage room of the town. However this victory put Savoie as the top nation in the Alps and let them become a regional power
