Overview

California is a nation within the Terra Aurora server of EarthMC. It was founded on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 4:57 AM GMT by StarKiller1744, in the town of Los Angeles. California was the first nation in the Americas, and the 6th nation in the world. The nation is governed by a king with permanent assistants and a council of elected officials.

Government

The government of the California Realm was established on May 3 2022. It consists of a governor, appointed advisors, and an elected council (secretaries). Initially, secretaries were appointed by the governor until proper elections could be held.

The current governor is SaphieyahRose. Advisor positions are held by dogster (Chancellor) and Payton0723 (diplomat).

History

California history is divided into the "Creation Era" and the "Dawn Era". The Creation Era spans the early access period for premium players (May 1, 2022 - May 13, 2022). This period included the creation of nation and its core towns. This era is divided into two sections, early access from May 1st to May 8th, and the week-long maintenance period from May 8th to May 15th, when the server released to the public.

The Dawn Era opened with the public release of the server. It began with a rush to stake California's claims in the region. Non-premium Californian players made towns to secure the nation's hold on its territory. During this time period California would grow very quickly, cementing its place on the western coast of North America.


Downfall and Hibernation

After a few months of growth the nation would encounter a huge blow with Starkiller and Cubs both getting banned and subsequently both giving up on the server as they didn't see any point of doing anything with it as they were now banned and highlander also giving up on the server as he got harassed by the general population on the server and left the nation to make his own town, the only other person who was still in Los Angeles by the time both were banned, Sapphirerose who was the only one left was crowned as Queen of California. At present, the California Republic has 4 towns affiliated. Its territories extend Parts of the inland of Washington and majority of the Southern Californian Coast and further inland including the Sierras.
