Cascadia-NWT War

The Cascadia-NWT War was a conflict between Cascadia and the nation of NWT[Named Mackenzie for part of the war] from September XX, 2024 to October XX, 2024[Writer's Note: I do not have exact dates, will be updated with the correct ones ASAP.]. This followed a secession from Cascadia, primarily by members of the Cascadian Communist Party, who left dissatisfied with the nation. Eventually, a territorial dispute was escalated to war by NWT. Very quickly, Cascadia's defense apparatus defeated the much smaller nation, leading to a Cascadian victory. Afterward, NWT would merge into Alaska, and eventually reform as Alaska declined in 2025.

Background & Prelude to War

NWT Secession

On October 2, 2024, a couple of towns in the far north of Cascadia, exclusively members of the Cascadian Communist Party seceded peacefully from Cascadia to form the nation of NWT. The secession was after...[Writers Note: Research is under progress.]. Though the secession was peaceful, it was not without scorn, and relations between NWT and Cascadia would become cold.

Settling of Ythan Adevir

On October 28, 2024, the town of Ythan Adevir was founded by aduwastaken, about 200 blocks east of Castle John, xHydre's town and NWT's capital. From her account she attempted to make contact with the NWT to join them, however for whatever reason could not reach them. As a result, she decided to join Cascadia instead. This was much to the anger of the NWT, as her town was placed alongside an aboveground road connecting Castle John and Hay River, the nation's second most important town. On October 30, NWT released a condemnation of Cascadia for choosing to keep the town within the nation, claiming it was violating their sovereignty and accusing Adu of being "flippant, hostile, and ignorant to the history of both nations". They also claimed the town blocked the aboveground road connecting Hay River and Castle John, though by this point the road in question had remained untouched. They also accused the Cascadian government of having placed the town themselves, though the mayor had not previously had contact with Cascadia before placing her town.
