GabeTheInsomniac is Prime Minister of Australia, Governor of Oceania and Mayor of Canberra.

Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister, he previously served two terms as Prime Minisger from May to September 2022, and again from November 2022 to January 2023, also serving as Deputy Prime Minister of Australia from September to November 2022.

History

Launch of Terra Aurora

GabeTheInsomniac spawned into Terra Aurora on the 2nd of May within Kazakhstan. Prior to spawning, GabeTheInsomniac was a member of Australia on Terra Nova, serving as Govenor of Terra Australis and holding a Ministerial position within the 4th Australian Empire. GabeTheInsomniac was apart of the initial planning of Australia on Terra Aurora, along with other founding members such as SCOBlade, Gaggy_, Raurok, JackJackson, Panth_r and Seranil.

Shortly after the launch of Aurora, GabeTheInsomniac created the town of Canberra, and shortly afterward created and briefly owned future Australian capital Coober Pedy. Gabe contributed to and was present to the founding of /n Australia along with other launch members.

Tenure as Prime Minister

First Term

GabeTheInsomniac was selected as the first Prime Minister of Australia on the 31st of May as a part of the temporary government leading Australia at the start of Terra Aurora.

After assisting in the creation of the Australian Constitution in August, GabeTheInsomniac and his Deputy Prime Minister Gaggy_ ran for re-election in September, winning by a landslide of 74.04% to 25.96% against JackJackson and Greg on a two-party preferred basis.

Resignation and Tenure as Deputy Prime Minister

On the 22nd of September, GabeTheInsomniac stepped down as Prime Minister of Australia due to problems in real life, handing the Prime Minstership to Gaggy_ and serving as his deputy for the remainder of the term.

GabeTheInsomniac and Gaggy both intended to step down from leading Australian Politics at the November election, however decided against this due to fear of Australia being led by 'incompetent' individuals. As such, Gaggy_ ran for re-election in November, winning by a slimmer 61% to 39% against dexterist Joeey on a two-party preferred basis.

Second Term

On the 24th of November, Gaggy_ stepped down as Prime Minister citing disinterest in EarthMC, handing the Prime Ministership back to GabeTheInsomniac. Shortly after, Gabe reshuffled the Australian cabinet, including promoting Yoditi to the position of Deputy Prime Minister. Throughout this second term, Australia began to experience an increase in an increase in activity, with new citizens, towns and mayors joining the nation. GabeTheInsomniac also undertook the creation of the Sea Star Alliance, which was seen as a replacement for the Sydney Accords, which was disbanded by Seranil shortly before the creation of the Sea Star Alliance.

At the beginning of December, Gabe pondered the possibility of running for re-election as Prime Minister, but ultimately decided against it due to the possibility of being inactive in 2023 due to circumstances in real life. As such, both Gabe and Gaggy_ encourged longtime friend and ally 12BarBruise/Magg to run as Prime Minister, who eventually accepted and formulated a campaign for election. Gabe and Gaggy both assisted in this camapign, providing endorsements and creating propaganda posters. Magg ultimately prevailed in the election, winning by a landslide 68.2% to 31.8% against fellow nova player, Panth_r on a two-party preferred basis.

GabeTheInsomniac's final week in office included the coordination of the January 2023 elections and the formulation, proposal, passage and royal assent of a third wide-ranging amendment to the Australian Constitution.

Tenure as Foreign Affairs Minister

GabeTheInsomniac began his tenure as Foreign Affairs Minister on the 2nd of January, 2023.

On the 11th of February, GabeTheInsomniac bought the nation of Oceania and its associated town for 1.5 thousand gold, moving the /n spawn of Oceania from Katherine (now ExplosiveAiden) to the town of Canberra, with the spawn being moved to Brisbane and then through to Canberra. On the 13th of February, GabeTheInsomniac began construction of a new /n spawn district to be situated near NeonCo in Canberra. As of the 17th of February, both planning and construction are underway.

On the 13th of February, GabeTheInsomniac authored a Non Aggression Pact (NAP) with Lumpoon and Egypt.
