Thanamos left the city for Rome to assist the Pope. The nation remained inactive for over a year and to be held by several trusted individuals. In the beginning on May 2023, he launched a huge gold requisition among Papal States. With help of his friend [[Zwipexx]], he purchased Switzerland and Geneva. The town was given to Bisougai and the nation was handed over to Zwipexx. In the following weeks, Savoie obtained towns of Sion and Annecy for free after scamming Switzerland. In that moment, Duke [[Thanamos]] said ''"You cannot scam a Swiss because they aren't human"'' (truly legendary quote). Consequence of that was a small not-so-impactful Swiss raid on Sion. Since then, Savoie became the leader of Alps region. In mean time, Vladie57 left for assisting the Church.

Before the unification with Tyrol, Savoyard towns were not having their own nation, they were rather wandering around nations. Tyrol was a small eastern Austrian nation led by [[Zwipexx]], which he got after co-operating with Thanamos. Tyrol consisted of three towns, capital of Fritzens, Fritzner-Einöde and [[Chur (Aurora)|Chur]]. On 12 August 2023, both regions agreed onto and united into the Kingdom of Savoy-Tyrol. The territory is mainly composed of mountains (arround 95%). On the west, the french area are mostly plains and small hills. The climate is influenced by the Rhône and the Mistral wind which create depression and cold arround the area of Venaissin. The main territory is arround the Alps and the highest natural point of Europe : ''The Mont Blanc'' which peaks at 138 blocks height ( 4808 m in real life). On it's east, the territory is also at the limits of the "Austrian" Alps with the towns of Fritzens and Krn.

The north of the territory with Geneva is under the valley of Joux and the Swiss plateau. The Lemen lake constitue the major water point in the area and is the biggest natural lake of Europe.

On the beginning of 2024, Torino has been made the formal capital, with many magnificent architectural plans, which just one of them eventually came into life - Palazzo Reale.

The reasoning behind leaving the Holy Roman Empire was lack of time of mayors and incapability of the Holy Roman Empire supporting militarly and economically. Also, in the eyes of Thanamos, the Empire has lost its prestige and main purpose a few months ago. The empire was also allegedly subjected to corruption and cronyism. Besides that, the nation reached the milestone of 100 residents the same day.


The Towny nation was disbanded on 24 March 2024, as maintaining a one-chunk nation would be "costly". By this time, all towns left Savoie and joined the republic.

On 17 October 2024 Thanamos' ban period was reduced from permanent period to 6 months meaning his ban would expire on 17 November 2024. 3meraldK selected Thanamos as heir to the throne the next day. The coat of arms was reworked the same day.

The original goal of this implentation was making a nation based of the IRL former border of the Kingdom of Piemont-Sardinia. On 14 November 2024 Prince [[Thanamos]] announces launch of the operation "Free Savoie" which main goal was to "liberate France from the grip of ... 'English'". On 23 November 2024 mayor of Armagnac blackmailed Savoy for 3000 gold under the threat of selling the town to French, for which the government accepted the offer and bought his town. On 24 November 2024 Duke [[3meraldK]] stepped out the throne and Thanamos took over.

Soon after, serveral former members of Nova France came to join Savoie in order to settle their own towns. This is how trytry07 came in order to form Vivarais. However, Switzerland people blocked Savoie expansion. Therefore Thanamos become inactive and soon joined Rome in order to assist former Pope BenedictXVII. The town would remain inactive for over a year and let a succession of several individuals (Bisougai, Phoenix and M4GM4). During this era, the town of Savoie became a possession of the kingdom of Francia and nothing much changed. Several pesant came to build their mud house and start crops. However arround april 2023, Thanamos came back to Savoie and the real story of Savoie will start.
After a brief rule of 3meraldK, Savoy's activity replenished to its fullest within a month or so, bringing over 100 constant resident count to the nation. First elections for a chancellor took place in late December. Under Thanamos' rule, /n Savoie was established once again, and most of Savoyard towns moved from Venice to the new nation.

Savoyard towns moving from Venice to the new country was inappriopriate to the respect of the treaty which they signed with Venice in March 2024. It caused severe distrust among Venetians - as a matter of fact, the bond of Savoyards and Venetians was on a low level ever since March. The growing distrust reached its climax in January 2025, when Venice kicked out Savoie from its structures. Main reasons were "being uncomfortable with Savoyard leadership", weak bonds between citizens of both nations, and seeing Savoy as an exploiter.

On 6 February 2025, Savoy launched the only offensive against Genoa, resulting in occupation of 24 of Turin's chunks.

In very early July of 2025, France launched an offensive on Savoy's capital, Saluzzo. The duke condemned the attack, but a few days later opened a bid for towns of Saluzzo and Venaissin. France bought both cities totalling 8000 gold ingots on 16 July, hence ending the rule of Thanamos for good. Town of Geneva signed a separate treaty of friendship with France, joining them and securing their safety. Ultimately, all towns in the core province joined [[Aurora:France]] and that remained until the end of Terra Aurora.

The town of Savoie was just a very small town without developpement and houses. It was just a town to secure the border of the Alps. When Thanamos came back, the town was under Francia which back then was under the Papacy. Thanamos started to build up houses and renovate the castle of Savoie. He also build the first church of Savoie : Saint Michel Church.
The Savoyard flag was a white cross on a red field, additionally texted with ''FERT'' - an abbreviation of ''"Fortitudo Eius Rempublicam Tenet"'', which means "His bravery [or strength] preserves (or defends) the state". The coat of arms was a custom coat, with the oldest version created on 25 March 2024 by [[3meraldK]]. The newest version contained a symbol of France. Below that there were eight selected counties, baronies and duchies. Clockwise from top left: Geneva, Venaissin, Avignon, Turin, Narbonne, Saluzzo, [[Aurora:Krn|Krn]] and Uzès. On the center above flags there was a field with Savoyard flag, meaning the House of Savoy ruled above or had rightful claims for France and the counties. Escutcheon was decorated with a circular golden frame, detailed with triple "FERT".

However with the chaos inside French region and the conflict between Francia and France. King Vladie57 decided to leave Papal states and proclaim Savoie independance. This was the beginning of a new era of the town because Duke Thanamos would be able to expand freely without answering to anyone.

The town was given to one of Thanamos trusted man : Bisougai and the nation was given to Zwippex. With the victory over Switzerland, this nation fall appart. In the next weeks, Savoie obtain the towns of Sion and Annecy for free after scamming the Switzerland. Duke Thanamos says " You cannot scam a Swiss because they aren't human". Former Switzerland member Météofur go angry against Savoie and raid the town of Sion which caused 0 casualites but he managed to stole the storage room of the town. However this victory put Savoie as the top nation in the Alps and let them become a regional power

Hostility against Poitou-Charentes

On 5 November 2023, Savoy declared war against Poitou-Charentes due to invasion of claims. Allegedly, Poitou-Charentes was always being hostile to Savoy, and now "it was the time to settle it". In November and December, national diplomat 3meraldK announced and was working on the national road project, which connected all Savoyard towns by 28 December 2023. The main road goes through the Alps for over 1000 blocks. On the beginning of 2024, Torino has been made the formal capital, with many magnificent architectural plans, which just one of them eventually came into life - Palazzo Reale.

Joining Venice

On 17 March 2024, Savoy left the Holy Roman Empire and joined the Most Serene Republic of Venice as an autonomous province. The reasoning behind leaving the Holy Roman Empire was lack of time of mayors and incapability of the Holy Roman Empire supporting militarly and economically. Also, in the eyes of Thanamos, the Empire has lost its prestige and main purpose a few months ago. The empire was also allegedly subjected to corruption and cronyism. Besides that, the nation reached the milestone of 100 residents the same day.

The Towny nation was disbanded on 24 March 2024, as maintaining a one-chunk nation would be "costly". By this time, all towns left Savoie and joined the republic.

Change of the leadership

Thanamos declared Zwipexx a regent of Savoy on 15 April 2024 due to his inactivity period. The regency ended on 2 May 2024. On 19 May 2024, Thanamos was permanently banned due to "repeated 2.4 and severely inappropriate behavior via discord". In the end of May 2024, Zwipexx inherited the Savoyard throne after Thanamos. On 4 June 2024 the ducal court decided, that the new heir to throne will be selected by voting. 3meraldK was selected by the court on 9 June 2024 among two other candidates, Bisougai and THEGoldenOWL1. On 17 June 2024 Zwipexx resigned from the position and moved to Edesse, passing the role of Duke to 3meraldK. trytry07 was declared the next heir the same day.

Fall of Champagne and Thanamos unbanning

In the beginning of October 2024, trytry07 gave his town of Champagne to Vladie57 who a few days later disbanded it for France's favor. Since that time position for Prince was vacant. On 17 October 2024 Thanamos' ban period was reduced from permanent period to 6 months meaning his ban would expire on 17 November 2024. 3meraldK selected Thanamos as heir to the throne the next day. The coat of arms was reworked the same day.

Thanamos III

On 14 November 2024 Prince Thanamos announces launch of the operation "Free Savoie" which main goal was to "liberate France from the grip of ... 'English'". On 23 November 2024 mayor of Armagnac blackmailed Savoy for 3000 gold under the threat of selling the town to French, for which the government accepted the offer and bought his town. On 24 November 2024 Duke 3meraldK stepped out the throne and Thanamos took over.

A short revival

After a brief rule of 3meraldK, Savoy's activity replenished to its fullest within a month or so, bringing over 100 constant resident count to the nation. First elections for a chancellor took place in late December. Under Thanamos' rule, /n Savoie was established once again, and most of Savoyard towns moved from Venice to the new nation.

Withdrawal from Venice

Savoyard towns moving from Venice to the new country was inappriopriate to the respect of the treaty which they signed with Venice in March 2024. It caused severe distrust among Venetians - as a matter of fact, the bond of Savoyards and Venetians was on a low level ever since March. The growing distrust reached its climax in January 2025, when Venice kicked out Savoie from its structures. Main reasons were "being uncomfortable with Savoyard leadership", weak bonds between citizens of both nations, and seeing Savoy as an exploiter.

Independent Savoy

In the beginning of 2025, a wave of denunciations striked Savoie, as well as a few countries around the world have irrelevantly declared open hostilities. The drama even came to a moment when Thanamos proposed a fight in-game, however it was met with no response. Two next rounds of a prime minister elections have concluded in 2025. On 6 February 2025, Savoy launched the only offensive against Genoa, resulting in occupation of 24 of Turin's chunks. On 27 March 2025, Savoie announced its constitution called "Magna Carta Sabaudiae".

The fall of the duchy

Popular inactivity amongst the residents of Savoy was present since the spring of 2025. As the consequence, Savoy suffered a major loss of residents. In very early July of 2025, France launched an offensive on Savoy's capital, Saluzzo. The duke condemned the attack, but a few days later opened a bid for towns of Saluzzo and Venaissin. France bought both cities totalling 8000 gold ingots on 16 July, hence ending the rule of Thanamos for good. Town of Geneva signed a separate treaty of friendship with France, joining them and securing their safety. Ultimately, all towns in the core province joined Aurora:France and that remained until the end of Terra Aurora.

Geography

At the highest of territorial control, Savoy stretched across the entire Alps mountain range. It mainly controlled the core region of a French province named Savoy which lies at the foot of the western Alps. On the foot of the eastern Alps it had a town named Krn. The north of the territory consisted of Geneva under the valley of Joux and the Swiss plateau. Savoy was a landlocked province. Its neighbors, for the majority of time, were Monaco, Venice, France and the Genoa.

Flag and coat of arms

The Savoyard flag was a white cross on a red field, additionally texted with FERT - an abbreviation of "Fortitudo Eius Rempublicam Tenet", which means "His bravery [or strength] preserves (or defends) the state". The coat of arms was a custom coat, with the oldest version created on 25 March 2024 by 3meraldK. The newest version contained a symbol of France. Below that there were eight selected counties, baronies and duchies. Clockwise from top left: Geneva, Venaissin, Avignon, Turin, Narbonne, Saluzzo, Krn and Uzès. On the center above flags there was a field with Savoyard flag, meaning the House of Savoy ruled above or had rightful claims for France and the counties. Escutcheon was decorated with a circular golden frame, detailed with triple "FERT".

Diplomacy

Savoy was mainly hostile to France, Genoa and Poitou-Charentes. Savoy had signed 6 treaties in total:

  • Non-aggression pact with the Danubian Confederation, 5 October 2023
  • Treaty of Chambéry with Monaco about continued friendship and non-aggression pact, 19 October 2023
  • Treaty of Torino with Monaco about friendship and territorial exchange, 1 November 2023
  • Folkvangr Pact with Norway about an alliance, 20 January 2025

  • Savoy had established a concept of noble houses, but they fulfilled rather a symbolic function. There were 4 of them in total: House of Savoie, Tournon, Odinson and the TNT.
