The East-West Conflict was a series of clashes and conflicts between Iran and the Sassanid Dynasty, in an attempt to see which nation would reunify Iran. It is considered the second major event in the formation of Iran as the nation was officially established during this conflict, and it set the stage for the formation of the Persian Empire.
Prelude
The Sassanid Dynasty
The Sassanids were a group of towns which originally settled South of Kushan and East of Northern Iran, placing them right outside of Iran's claims. Despite this, they began to recruit and fund towns within Eastern Iran in order to establish a kingdom.
The East and West Meeting
Iran, entering its last stages in its war against Babylon, began to turn its attention to the town of Rey, which was ruled by a Turk who wished to establish the Seljuk Empire. On June 17, 2022, Sepraf went before Ehsan, the Sassanid King, to raise awareness about the rising threat in Northern Iran. However, he was met with rude remarks from Ehsan and his Lords as it turned out they were good allies of the Seljuks, and when Sepraf made it clear he had no intention of placing the Iranian towns under Ehsan's authority, a massive argument broke out resulting in Sepraf being kicked.
The Sassanids had made it clear they were going to continue operating as a satellite state of the Seljuks, also revealing that this was the reason they established their towns outside of Iran.
The Babylonian Situation
On June 23, 2022, WearyWarden, the Babylonian Lord of Tehran reached out to Sepraf for a diplomatic meeting. He stated that the town of Rey, ruled by xHolland, was only 700 gold away from forming a nation, and he much rather preferred Iran forming than for the former. He also stated that xHolland was outraged when Tehran refused to join under his kingdom. After hearing this, Sepraf was able to help WearyWarden draw some expansion maps which strategically turned the town of Tehran into a buffer zone, keeping the Seljuks away from Sepahan.
First Conflicts
Initiation
The first series of conflicts were kickstarted soon after the diplomatic meeting between Sepraf and Ehsan went poorly.
