==Founding and History==

It was originally created by '''Owen3H''' and '''Warriorrr''' (who were commonly associated with the in-game nation of [[Nova:Britain|Britain]] on Terra Nova) as an alternative and fork of the '''EarthMC Info''' bot ran by '''LuciferianThomas''' who seemingly quit around 2019~2020 after an incident where player '''Aceshooter''' implemented a backdoor into the original '''EMC Info''' bot, gathering messages from many private discords. The backdoor which was swiftly removed upon forking, and ever since then, '''EMCS''' has been committed to staying open-source and after many rewrites and refactors, you can be sure it is safe to use. You can even fork the [https://github.com/EarthMC-Toolkit/EMCS-Rewritten repo] , edit code and host it yourself if you are still unsure! 

 

In 2025, '''EMCS''' suffered hosting limitations and maintenance troubles due to limited resources, making it unsustainable alongside the 5 years of technical debt. At which point, the decision was made to completely rewrite the bot from the ground up using the Golang programming language, which is a much faster compiled language and is easy to pick up just like JS or TS, making it suitable for what is now a self-hostable, configurable and performant Discord bot made specifically to help EarthMC players with many aspects of the server by providing useful information. 

 

Today, Owen3H is still maintaining the main instance of the EMCS in 2026 alongside alliance editors and updates the bot and its API in his free time where possible.

 

There are a total of '''9''' editors currently, with four of them being "senior" editors, who have the ability to disband alliances and possibly more permissions in future.
