Overview

Philadelphia is the largest town by number of chunks in the state of Pennsylvania, and ranks 5th largest in the North American continent, trailing behind Chicago, New York City, Montreal, and Miami. As of October 17th, 2026, Philadelphia sits at 723 chunks, situated in the southeast corner of Pennsylvania. It claims into the northern regions of Maryland and Delaware, and along the beginning stretch of both the Delaware and Susquehanna rivers.

Philadelphia was founded within the first 24 hours of the Terra Nostra opening, at 3:52 EST by __naagy, the first mayor and influential individual in the town.

History

Founding

Philadelphia was founded on April 17th, 2026 by __naagy. It has been in the hands of 2 mayors, both founders of the town, __naagy and Mattbob153. The town proceeded to join The Commonwealth of America 2 days after its founding, in the early morning hours of April 21st, 2026.

Wartime

Philadelphia was one of the epicenters of the war with the rogue secessionist state of USA. The town of Pennsylvania, now named South_Philly, had been created to claimblock Philadelphia in the weeks leading up to the American Civil War (see image below). A border wall was built just days before the signing of a treaty with USA.

The claimblock town was eventually bought after the signing of the Treaty of Philadelphia with the help of HibachiBeamz, and subsequently demolished, roads rebuilt, and redeveloped. It was also renamed to South_Philly, which still remains.

South Philly

After the purchase of the old Delawarean town, South_Philly underwent significant changes, including the complete redesign of the roads and public transportation system (ice subway system). It currently holds 2 buildings, and joint town embassy rowhomes, built for the use of both towns. There are also a number of freestanding buildings on the easternmost side. Both South_Philly and Philadelphia serve as one unified entity, currently split due to overclaim and ineligibility for a town merge.

Philadelphia has the following infrastructure within its borders:

• Underground Subway System
  • Built by alktat, the subway system connects the inner workings of Philadelphia and South_Philly with 1x2 blue ice tunnels and various sidewalk entrances. See figure 2 for a complete map.
• 30th Street Icerail Station
  • This station feats a dual-bore system for ice boat railways that connects to the expansive Atlantic Line. It also has access to a less extensive ice minecart system.
• Reading Terminal Station
  • This station consists of only an ice minecart system that links into the 30th Street minecart line

*The ice minecart lines do not currently have a function, they only connect within Philadelphia.
