General elections were held on 15 January 2023 in Cascadia to elect the President of Cascadia and all seventeen seats in the House of Representatives for one-month terms. These were the sixth elections to be held in Cascadia.
Incumbent President TylenolEC did not choose to stand for re-election for a second term as President. Former Secretary of Recruitment EstiQT announced her campaign for the Presidency on January 7, and was virtually unchallenged until Small_Cat announced they were also running. Small_Cat dropped out January 11. Her main rival in the race included representative and Mayor of Newport Fr0z3nW1nt3r. Two other candidates for President included House Representative and Mayor of Bread Inc, Bachinuni, and Mayor of Oceanside RealLIMPOPO. Their campaigns were later ruled unconstitutional and thrown out by the Supreme Court. The court ruled that Bachinuni's cabinet choices could not be just himself, as he had picked himself to fill every cabinet office. RealLIMPOPO's campaign had been thrown out as he had only been a citizen for only 1 month, the Constiution of Cascadia required Presidential candidates to be a citizen of Cascadia for 2 months or more. The ruling was quite controversial, as it led to Associate Judge Wrestlingwithgod being voted out of his office a couple of days later.
A new constituency, Great North, was added in the House of Representatives. X of the seventeen incumbent members of the House, [WIP] did not stand for re-election. House elections were stretched into to early morning hours of January 16, as there were some problems calculating all House votes.
