The slum zone is a dedicated land area that occupies the former Detroit suburban metropolitian area. It is a special dwelling district where there is free reign of the TerraCorp residents to live as they please. The area has no authority or district government reigning over it, leading to a complete disregard of standards and public investment. The area consists of farmers and shopkeepers that own a larger portion of the land in the slum zone. Shacks, plank sheds and sometimes roofless houses, occupy this previously desolate urban decayed landscape. In the beginnings of the slum, the area would still have a lot of abandoned buildings and destroy road connections. It has since been patched up by its residents and all the abandoned buildings have been cleared. There has been a effort in recent years to revitalize the slum zone, which has led to further investment into the Atlantic-Chicago Canalway connection.
