Asuncion
|
The Paraguayan region has always been harsh and near untamable. The land is littered with the dead cities of Imperial Brasil, remnants of builds that were never completed, and hostile looters ravaging the landscape. The Paraguayan Region, north of the Paraná River line at Posadas and along the Paraguayan River, has had various claims and boundaries throughout its history on the server. However it’s history prior to the founding of Asuncion is unrecorded and only told through hear-say.
The Pre-Founding Era
Asuncion is a complicated story and its history is debated due to the regions lack of records. The Imperial Brasil wiki has a record of the city existing under their control however there is no location founded of a city ever being built by the Brasileros.
- Ciao and Patagonia
One early record indicates a settlement created by a player named Ciao000000 could be the first. He was infamous on the server for his toxicity and town hopping. Upon further investigation of old map records it was discovered that Ciao’s settlement was located on the Eastern side of the Paraguayan River of what is today the Bahia Asuncion This information was founded under Patagonian Wikis and Discord. In a short interview of Ferraru the King of Patagonia his nation invaded Ciao’s settlement in a short skirmish. His surrender gave claim of his settlement to Patagonia. With Ciao now gone and the region under Patagonian control any development would now cease. All of Ciao’s structures were destroyed and only foundations remained as evidence of it ever presiding there. Isolation fell upon the region.
An unknown amount of time would pass until the site was rediscovered by Jiolion in early February of 2020. Jiolion, the founder and current Mayor of Asuncion built a house in the foundations of Ciao’s old settlement. The house would be later demolished to expand the Paraguayan River during the Cities Reconstruction Era. Ciao, although by many considered to be a toxic player and by no means a hero, is considered by Asuncion to be a pioneer of these lands. His name is honorably placed in the Panteón de los Heroes.
- PinguimArmado
Although the cities official founding is dated as March 1, 2020 by Jiolion, the cities foundations can be credited to a player known as PinguimArmado. Not far from his homestead while scouting the area Jiolion rediscovered a series of planned out roads and various amounts of building materials unrelated to Ciao’s former settlement. The site was at First undisturbed as it was unclear whether it had been abandoned. After two weeks of inactivity Jiolion presumed the site as a dead city and moved his settlement to the site. There were no structures only Avenues and Boulevard lining out a city that was never built. Only a sign stating an “empire will be built here” was founded on the cities surface level while beneath the streets was a storage area and mineshaft of settlers long gone.
A month would pass and the city’s skyline would rise until Pinguim returned to the server. Jiolion had luckly connected and met Pinguim, who would introduce himself as the original builder of the cities layout. He explained How he had began construction of the roads but would become inactive prior to any further development. He had no intention on staying any longer on the server and solely connected out of curiosity of what happened to his build. The two toured the city until Pinguim had disconnected for the last time. Pinguim is honored as the Father of Asuncion and a visionary. A statue is dedicated to him in the cities Panteón de los Heroes.
- The Unknown Settlers
There is one final record of the cities existence in the Pre-founding Era. While the city was being built Asuncion began to make large investments into the regional infrastructure. Ruta Nacional 1 had just been completed and Subte Connection to Argentina had just been bored by Franchu Franchu (ExViceroy of the Guarani) and Nico GNV (former Argentine Governor, Former Mayor of Rosario and São Paulo and Ex Paraguayan Chancellor). Following this, Jiolion would begin construction of the Ja’ha system and develop more formal Metro Stations. During the construction of the Chaco’i Transfer Station an old mineshaft was discovered. The location of the station takes place along the Costanera of Asuncion. Upon further investigation at a lower level of the abandoned mineshaft a storage area was found. Within the storage area two signs were left. Written upon them “Ayator was here...June 23, 2019” and “Asuncion and Paraguay will be founded”. It is unclear if Ayator was the former tenant of the mineshaft or just a passer by leaving his mark, none the less it is the only known written record within the server referencing the cities name prior to it’s official founding. CR12 (King of the Chilean Empire) has stated that Asuncion was previously established in the past by a few Chilean settlers but the city was small possibly underground and records of its location have been lost. After investigation this site was believed to be connected to these stories.
The Viceroy Era
On March 1st 2020, the City of Asuncion was officially established. After various months of traveling between Rosario and Asuncion and engaging with La Platan politicians, Asuncion entered the Argentine Empire as a city in the Guarani Viceroy. Franchu Franchu the Viceroy of the Guarani headquartered in nearby Santa Cruz de la Sierra crowned Jiolion and Nico GNV as Chancellors of the Viceroy. Jiolion with his new found status would begin construction on the city right away establishing major highways and Subte connections to nearby Posadas and Santa Cruz. During this time the city Exploded. The Viceroy was strong and began to develop its first steps in becoming what is today Paraguay.
The Reconstruction Era
After the Annexation of São Paulo and the Choca Cold War The Guarani Viceroy became The Nation of Paraguay. Asuncion became the capital of this newly found Republic and Franchu Franchu would hand down the reign of power to Jiolion as the First President of Paraguay and Mayor of the city. This period of rapid growth would almost come to a hault. Asuncion fell into a depression due to its distance from its allies in La Plata, a lack of inspiration, but primarily a disorganized city build. The city itself up to this point had been poorly planned and was in desperate need for reform. Jonnygrunge and CR12 invited their peer Jiolion to the city of Santiago, Chile. During Jiolion‘s stay he studied Santiago‘s Architectural and infrastructural design. At this time CR12 grew a fondness to the city of Asuncion and visited frequently. During his stay he dedicated his time into remapping the city’s municipal roads and presented these plans to Jiolion who upon his return to the city would begin reconstruction at full effect. The layout was one of Santiago style building which required for many of the city’s former structure to be demolished. No matter the city continued with these plans. After completion of the city‘s layout residential and government buildings began to be built in the style of Santiago’s architecture. For this the city was nicknamed “Santiago 2” jokingly by many of La Plata. The city‘s reconstruction is also credited to the First Chancellor iFarlowX, a close friend of President Jiolion, who would reformate the Santiago styled buildings and revitalize the city in a distinctly Asunceno image. iFarlowX also established the city‘s mine and tunnel system that became a major source of ore to the city and on a national scale.
The Paraguayan Renaissance
Asuncion had become a bilingual city of Spanish and English speakers alike with many embassies of various nations. Respected by its peers of La Plata as a growing city with massive potential. Asuncion was highly focused after the Reconstruction Era on gaining its own identity outside of its Santiago influenced architecture and Argentine Styled infrastructure from the previous Viceroy. itscoldbrrr, another close friend of President Jiolion who had now come to the nation and settled himself into the city, began to make investments in real estate. A major square block in center city was obtained by brrr who would use the space to build the city’s original storehouse. This investment into the city allowed for brrr to obtain even more space adjacent to the storehouse. Brrr would establish The First Banco Principal of Paraguay along of with public spaces including Parque Principal and Plaza Guarani. Brrr would also make major investments in tourism by construction the first hotel of Paraguay in Asuncion “La Palmaroga”. La Palmaroga was not only important for cultural reasons but it became the first building of Asuncion to really establish its own identity in terms of architecture unrelated to Santiago. Many other builds would take inspiration from the hotel not only in the city but across the nation. Brrr‘s love for the city allowed for the arts, cultural development, and establishment of public facilities and programs to make great strides. Brrr is a national hero to Paraguay and continues today to grow the city of Asuncion through his politics as Head Chancellor and philanthropy.
