Holy Roman Imperium (Classic)
Holy Roman Imperium
The Holy Roman Imperium (Still dubbed the HRE) is a developing project by Ulm and paperpikmin to revive the Holy Roman Empire established by the Papal States. The project is contunuing and as such is not considered a solid entity, however will be further documented.
History of the Imperium
Conception
The idea of an entity that functioned in the same way as the Holy Roman Empire was completely equal to the idea of creating a Principality of Ulm, and was meant to coincide entirely. While Ulm remained an uncertainty, the idea of a new HRE was developed and considered, with member states potentially including several European nations. The idea was first considered while the German Empire was still in power, and was further considered along with Ulm during the reign of the German Democratic Republic, as the prospect of an Algiers was less enticing over time. The collapse of the German Democratic Republic led to the immediate creation of Ulm, and the Holy Roman Imperium was further considered. The initial idea was to establish a new Holy Roman Empire nation to replace Germany, however the formation of Nazi Germany made this idea obsolete. The idea became more shaped towards that of the diet's of Sarmango, wherein signs would be the authority. This was eventually removed, and further development is considered.
Opposition
The nation of France stands in fierce opposition to the idea of a new HRE, and with the dissolution of the Papacy, a great schism was formed in Catholicism, wherein paperpikmin declared himself Pope was elected Holy Roman Emperor. The schism is not considered a matter of high importance, however, and the two continue to maintain good relations.
Development of the Imperium
The HRE will likely be established as an independent successor state if Nazi Germany proves unsuccessful and collapses, a prospect increasingly unlikely with the growth of the nation. The idea of a union of nations and towns under a banner in the name of the Imperium is also still being developed.
