Évora is part of the Kingdom of Portugal. The city is located in Western Europe, in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered by Lisbon to the north and northeast, by Faro to the east and southeast and by the Atlantic Ocean to the south, west and northwest. Évora was officially founded on July 5th, 2023 by zedascoubes, the current mayor. It is a safe and pacific town as pvp, mobs, explosions and fire spread are disabled in its territory. It is also public, which means that anyone can join the town and become a resident by typing /t join Évora in the in-game chat. Currently, Évora has a population of 41 residents and an area of 83 chunks, having acquired the status of city on August 1st, 2023.

History

The ruin of Sagres

In the land where Évora is currently settled, there was a previous town called Sagres. Due to its mayor inactivity, the town fell into ruin and the need of claiming that wild zone led to Évora's formation. It was founded by a player named zedascoubes, former mayor and considered the founder of Leiria, who was able to return to the server as summer was comming up, after nearly 5 months of inactivity. He was suggested to hold the new town temporarily by the mayor of Leiria, his successor, FTbD, who was aware of zedascoubes' skills in town management. Évora was then founded on July 5th, 2023.

Geography

Évora lies at an altitude blocks above the bedrock level (y = ) in the desert biome. It is located in Western Europe, in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered by Lisbon to the north and northeast, by Faro to the east and southeast and by the Atlantic Ocean to the south, west and northwest. It is the most southwesterly town on the European continent.

Demography

Évora has a population of 40 residents, being the most populated town in Portugal. It has a population density of 0,46 res/chunk. The residents of Évora are called eborenses.
