Aurora:Almaden
Almaden (previously Ciudad_Real) is a large town in the south west of Spain. It was founded in July 2022 and grew to around 180 chunks but later became inactive.
In February - May 2023 it grew rapidly when ezoib became the mayor and now is 719 chunks. This makes it the largest town in the Iberian Peninsula.
History
Early History
Almaden was founded on 31 July 2022. At this time it was called Ciudad_Real. Over time it grew to around 180 chunks. The town then became inactive and did not grow much for a long time.
Growth
The growth started when the council of Spain purchased the town for around 800G in early February 2023. The new mayor for the town was ezoib. He renamed the town to Almaden and removed the old buildings and created a new town spawn, roads, and plots for residents. Over time he recruited residents into Almaden and got to 110 residents in April 2023. All of the residents were from invite spamming and were not taught properly how to play the server. This meant that ezoib had to mine most of the gold for claims. At the maximum there was around 2000G/week being mined for Almaden claims. The large amount of gold and the high population allowed Almaden to grow rapidly and claimed over fallen towns such as Payitaht and Huelva.
End of Growth
After Almaden claimed over Payitaht, it had nowhere else to expand. A few weeks later on May 2 2023, Almaden merged with a small town to the north called Galicia and reached the current size of 719 chunks. Galicia owner Jayrenn became the mayor of Almaden so ezoib could visit other towns. A few hours later on the same day ezoib was banned from the server and Jayrenn took over the town. Unfortunately, he was not as active as ezoib and was not able to play on the server much. This led to a large decrease in the population of Almaden.
Architecture
Almaden is mostly wilderness, however there is a residential area in the centre of the town.
Town Spawn
This is a medium size open area. There is a stone floor and a deepslate and water in the centre.
Roads
The roads in Almaden are made from various types of deepslate. There is a sandstone path on each side of the road. Along the path there are small lamps.
Housing
There is a large variety of housing in Almaden. This is because it was made by the first members of the town which were recruited in February - March 2023
Notable People
There are not many notable people of Almaden because the residents were spam invited and not taught properly how to play the server.
