Republic of Dian (Chinese: 大滇民国; pinyin: Dàdiān Mínguó), commonly referred to as Dian, is a democratic republic located in East Asia. Its capital is Dali City. Dian shares borders with the Shu State to the north and the Indochina Federation to the south. The majority of its territory lies in Yunnan Province and Myanmar in southwestern China, with its western border adjacent to the Indian Ocean. It covers an approximate area of 3500 blocks and has a population of around 200.
The Republic of Dian is a founding member of the Mutual Defense Pact of China(中華互保) and a former member of the former Ming Federation. In March 2024, under the government-led economic policy of "resource export-oriented," Dian became one of the wealthiest countries in the Greater China region. Both its territory and population size rank among the top in the world.
The political system of Dian nominally separates the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. However, during the "Northern Expedition War"(Chinese: 北伐战争) that began on April 4, 2024, the Patriotic Government(護國政府) took on the leading role in most domestic and foreign policies.
Name of the Country
he Republic of Dian was established in Yunnan Province on the Yungui Plateau. Initially, the country was named the "Ma Clique"（馬家軍）, but later, President CoconutJuiceOwO changed it to "Dian"（滇） based on the ancient local name, and in February, upon the proposal of the citizen cheun_lau, the official country name was decided as the "Republic of Dian."
History
Pre-foundation
Before the establishment of Dian, there was no unified political authority in the Yunnan region. The control of the Yun Nation, a vassal state of the Ming Federation ruling over Yunnan, was limited to the Kunming area, while towns like Dali, Honghe, and Baise pledged allegiance to surrounding powers like Shu and Ming.
The path road connecting Chittagong eastward were made by Amazingsahir008 crossing the Dian nation months before the foundation of Dian.
Honghe Era
On January 19, 2024, former President CoconutJuiceOwO from Ronne established the "Ma Clique" regime in Xinjiang. Due to instability in Xinjiang, CoconutJuiceOwO considered selling off the country and fleeing back to Ronne. At the same time, the mayor of Honghe, Haixing1st, was planning to establish a new country. They reached an agreement, and CoconutJuiceOwO decided to settle in Honghe, establishing a regime there and joining the Ming Federation, marking the beginning of the Honghe Era of Dian. After establishing the regime in Honghe, the nascent country immediately attracted towns like Baise and Dali, which joined the Ma Clique regime. Later, due to public discontent with the name "Ma Clique," CoconutJuiceOwO changed it to "Dian."
However, CoconutJuiceOwO's acceptance of the western town of Roaring_River sparked the Dali Incident. The mayor of Roaring_River town had encouraged a large number of hunters to the Yunnan region, earning a notorious reputation, leading Dali to break away from Dian and join Shu. Subsequently, under pressure, CoconutJuiceOwO expelled Roaring_River town from Dian.
On February 1st, a resident of Honghe, cheun_lau, dissatisfied with the city planning of Honghe, established the first town since the founding of Dian, Pu'er, to the west of Honghe. Later, another Honghe resident, xabcdg, immigrated to Pu'er. With the support of CoconutJuiceOwO and xabcdg, Pu'er developed rapidly.
In mid-February, Dian officially adopted the name "Republic of Dian," and Dali rejoined Dian, ending the initial period of division in Dian's history. During this period, Dian experienced a period of expansion, with cities like Yangon and Manipur joining Dian, known as the "February Prosperity." However, CoconutJuiceOwO's delegation of powers to various mayors during this period planted the seeds for the later "March 1st Honghe Incident."
On March 1st, residents of Honghe discovered a series of thefts of their valuable items, leading to widespread distrust of President CoconutJuiceOwO. Although CoconutJuiceOwO took various measures the next day, they proved ineffective. Vice President Feibai_ initiated an impeachment against CoconutJuiceOwO, resulting in the resignation of the CoconutJuiceOwO cabinet and the assumption of the presidency by Feibai_. This incident marked the end of the Honghe Era and the beginning of the "Dali Era."
Transportation
Dian is connected with ice highways, connecting major towns like Dali, Pu'er, Honghe and also the rest of China. TNIH also planned to make a new ice highway Dian major town with Chittagong, to make access between Caspian-Indochina Ice Highways Corridor and Dian easier an faster.
