How it Works
The Concept behind EarthMC Marketplace
The initial idea for EarthMC Marketplace was to create a Discord which would make it much easier for players to find the items and services they want and for business owners to advertise what they're selling to a large audience as their message would not be hidden beneath messages in places such as the #trade channel in the Official EMC Discord Server thanks to the use of their own separate channel. This also meant that more complex advertisements could be made, as well as a place for updates about the business to be posted. This soon grew to include any EMC related organisations, such as recruitment discords, events and news organisations. Tickets were also introduced shortly before opening so that players could actually use their channel as a Discord storefront on a large and active Discord Server instead of using a separate, smaller Discord Server. There are multiple stores that have decided to do this. Some players even decide to use their channel as their only storefront, again instead of having a separate Discord Server. Using the EarthMC Marketplace Discord Server is simply more convenient for small stores that don't require much Discord space as advertising is on their behalf by the Discord Server and a much larger audience is able to see in depth what the business is selling as they don't need to join a separate Discord Server, instead just need to look at a single channel to find out what a business is selling. There is a #trade channel on EMC Marketplace, however there are strict regulations in place that forbid advertising businesses, events, /n spawns and other Discord Servers as this is a channel made for general trading between players. On EarthMC Marketplace, there is one Discord Moderator for every 100 members, and one Administrator for every 500 players. Only players who have the Verified Trader role on EMC Scams Discord Server, which is now also managed by the Marketplace team, can apply to become a Moderator on EarthMC Marketplace and only existing Moderators can be promoted to Administrator.
