Galiza
Galiza is a town located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is based on the autonomous region of Galicia, Spain. In-game, it is also a part of the nation of Spain. It was started by ClayonMC on the 2nd of January of 2019 but fell into inactivity due to its members leaving the server. During its flourishing period, it reached 10 residents. After a long inactivity period, it is now one of the most important towns of the nation of Spain, with landmarks such as the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.
History
The History of the town of Galiza can be divided into three sections
Beginnings: Creation and flourishment
Initial period
The town was founded on the 2nd of January of 2019 by ClayonMC. He was helped by Juanchi20, one of his friends. The town began small but quickly started to grow.
Glory
As it grew bigger and bigger, more and more residents came to live in the town. The population peaked at around 10 residents. Lots of buildings were being built and the town was flourishing. It should be noted that the town had a conflict with the now disappeared town Hadenburg regarding claim blocking.
Fallen Galiza: Inactivity period
The decline of a flourishing town
All great things come to an end and this period of glory started to vanish due to the residents slowly stopping to play on the server.
Total inactivity
Eventually, the mayor was left alone and he decided to stop playing on the server too. The only town activity during this period consisted of him reconnecting every once in a while so that the town didn't fall.
Rexurdimento (The resurgence)
This short period, the Rexurdimento, takes its name from a cultural and literary movement that revived Galician language and culture in the 19th century, whose main figures were Rosalía de Castro, Curros Enríquez e Eduardo Pondal. A new player, Adrivv15, arrived at the town and managed to get the mayor back to the server, ending up as a comayor himself. They were trying to bring the town to its former glory. Later, Juanchi20 will also come back to the server, becoming a comayor too. A renewal of the outdated buildings of the town and a path project were carried out during this period.
Back to inactivity
After they had some discrepancies over how to manage the town, the comayors decided to form a 'troika' where they should negotiate when wanting to do something important in the town. This didn't fix much at all, so the town ended up being left inactive once again. A lot of time would pass until anyone did anything about it.
New Age: The renovation of the town and the enhancing period
After many attempts of renewal of the town this last one with Indestruk_11 leadesship transformed the town in terms of land, gold and building into one of the main Spanish towns.
Started at 2020 ending with all the remaining buildings from the old town demolition and terraformation of the land, more than 11x9 chunks of land mined and height adjusted to adquire higher amount building available chunks. The first buildng was the cathedral know as the symbol of the beginning and the town divider between the old town (rustic and middle age buildings) and the new town (sandstone victorian styled).
After finishing the cathedral, the townhall and the bank were built, providing some public services to the incoming population expansion. After the first sqare was buildt the first citizens joined, some of them later became great town mayors like UnCry, Jlesh45 or Lemoncy. The amount of new players on the town forced the mayor Indestruk_11 to claim chunks from the old town to have more houses for citizens and the old town remodeling and house expansion was carried out by Jlesh45 also new public services like the shop or the common farm were built.
Main Old Buildings and Subdivisions
Due to the large number of chunks owned by the town, it had a lot of free space and some interesting buildings, that include:
Igrexa de San Pelaio (Church of Saint Pelagius)
This Church is dedicated to Saint Pelaio (also know as San Paio), a martyr that was born in Creciente, Galicia in 911 and killed during the emirate of Abdurrahman III (Cordoba, 925). He was canonized by the catholic church as a symbol of youth chastity and his Festivity Day is the 26th of June. The in-game building contains a level 30 enchanting table.
The Wall of the Fallen
This Wall is currently being completed. It encircles some of the main buildings of the town, such as the Blaze Farm, the town's spawn or the mayor's home.
Plaza Maior of Galiza (The Main Square)
This Plaza is inside the Wall of the Fallen. It has two fountains at the center that create a 2-block-wide path to the mayor's home. To the left, a blaze farm totaling 4 spawners. To the right, the town's spawn, which contains a map of the town, its flag, the rules and an ender chest. It is primarily built with stone bricks, glowstone and oak wood.
Castelo Suevo (Suebi Castle)
This building pays tribute to the occupation of Galicia by the Suebi people from 409 to 585, creating the first medieval kingdom in Europe, occupying the land of the Roman Empire even before its fall. It is built out of cobblestone and can be easily spotted on the Earth MC dynamic map.
The Coruña Plantations
This is a large plain (more than 10 chunks) dedicated almost exclusively to the production of wheat, carrots, potatoes, pumpkins, melons, cocoa beans, sugar cane and kelp. It takes its name for being located where the real-life Coruña is, one of the most important cities of Galicia (with a population of almost 250,000 people). It also has a cobblestone crop storage facility, a small wooden outpost and a stone brick bridge that leads to a small square with glowstone street lamps.
The Public mines of Galiza
This is a small building with a stone brick entrance that is used to access the Public mines of Galiza. It contains two furnaces and two crafting tables for everyone to use.
Resident Plots
This is just an example of the plots of two residents, in this case belonging to two of the old comayors. They are located in the north-east of the town.
Main New Buildings
As a part of the many reforms implemented in the New Age, new and much more sophisticated buildings were constructed.
Santiago de Compostela Cathedral
Started Building at 20th of December of 2020 and Finished the 11th of January of 2021, after two weeks of hard work. Built and designed by Indestruk11 as one of the first town projects, trying to represent some famous buildings from Galiza in real life. With 7x4 chunks, at the moment of construction is the third biggest cathedral of the server after Sussex and the Vatican City. The construction of this cathedral represented the start of a new age in Galzia, transforming it into one of the most touristic points of Spain, and stablishing the town as the new headquarter of the catholic church in Spain.
Inside the cathedral is located the town spawn, where some bassic commands and some info about spain is shown, also is the point of conecction between Old Galiza and the new town.
Pazo de Raxoi
Buidt an designed after the Cathedral by Indestruk_11, inspired on the Pazo de Raxoi, historic building in real life from Galicia. It works as the town hall, and Indestruk_11's residence. Main information and rules about the town are shown there, also the church related meetings and town meetings are celebrated there insides the main rooms.
Common Farm
After the new recruitting program applied in Galiza under Indestruk_11 leadership, high demmand of food ended as a remodelation of the old farm with a new design more suitable for the town. This remodelation incluided an staggered farm desing with main crops, and two small enclosures where animals live (one public with pig spawners and another one closed with inclusion of cows and sheep to the town) also a new apiary was created. One of the few remaining buildings of old Galiza is the bridge of the farm.
Town Bank
First building of the downtown, built to get some extra gold from citizens to improve the town, with two donation hoppers and one department focused on tax payment.
Downtown
After Indestruk_11 joined the town as a mayor, main town followed a victorian sandstone style, increasing the citizens up to 32 (day of edit) most of them settled on the main town, creating some shops inside the highest buildings and some other public buildings.
Old Town
A remodelation project inside the old town under Indestruk_11 supervision, and jlesh45 leadership, the old destroyed town, started to take live, claiming chunks, rebuilding houses and selling them. Also some other players like Lemoncy Invested some gold in new buildings to increase the old town.

Diplomacy
The town of Galiza hasn't always belonged to the nation of Spain. There was a small period of time where it joined Portugal but quickly went back to Spain. Nevertheless, it has lived a quiet and relaxing life (diplomatically speaking). The only notable conflict took place in its initial flourish period, with a town called Hadenburg that claimed blocked the town's north-west.
After the joining of Indestruk_11, the town has been under negotiations with Porto, Asturias and Sanbria to buy some calimed chunks due to the great expansion the town is carrying out.
