Al Barzah (formerly Badr) is a 17-chunk settlement in the Terra Nostra server, located in the nation of Arabia within the Middle East region, just north of Mecca. Founded on August 29, 2026, by mayor zamsucksatflying, the town is best known for its replica of the historical Masjid Al Areesh.
History
Pre-Founding & Al Samad Split
Prior to establishing Al Barzah, zamsucksatflying co-founded the town of Al Samad alongside Ruwaym. Following its initial setup, zamsucksatflying chose to branch off independently to form a distinct settlement. Despite the split, strong diplomatic ties were preserved, establishing Al Samad as Al Barzah's core ally.
Founding
The town was officially established on August 29th, 2026. Although originally planned to match the exact geographical coordinates of its real-world counterpart, the settlement was claimed one chunk north of Mecca (Makkah). The town was later renamed to **Al Barzah** to accurately match the real-world location.
Development
Following its founding, Al Barzah rapidly expanded to encompass 17 chunks. The primary architectural landmark within the settlement is a replica of Masjid Al Areesh.
Geography & Climate
Al Barzah is situated within a desert environment; however, the specific chunks containing Masjid Al Areesh feature a rare localized weather anomaly where it is the only place in the immediate area capable of receiving rainfall. A large mountain stands directly behind the masjid, naturally obscuring the build and making the town difficult to spot when approaching from the south.
