Nova:Allegany
Allegany is a small town in North America located in Maryland and Pennsylvania
History
The town of Allegany was founded by Goaliebros on December 29th, 2019. The town is located to the North of Washington, and to the West of Philadelphia. The location was chosen as a result of Western Maryland being the only available space left in the state to claim. The name Allegany comes from the county in Western Maryland.
Birth (Dec. 2019 - Apr. 2020)
While attempting to create the town, the founder, Goaliebros was repeatedly bushwhacked by other players. These players were assumed to be coming from the town of Arlington (then a part of Virginia), creating a resentment towards the nation of Virginia. In response, the Potomac River was diverted and a wall was built along the Arlington border (After Arlington became Washington and joined Maryland the wall was torn down). A short time after, TBONE88898 joined the town. He was known as The Great Excavator. TBONE88898 spent most of his time leveling out the surrounding dirt and stone to create a flat surface to build on. He also spent a fair share of time mining in the cave system located beneath the town. Later, a new member, chuckrock2001 joined the town, he was known as The Great Builder. He was responsible for creating the wall surrounding the town and many of the structures housing materials, as well as one of the houses. Following this period of prosperity, the members of the town became inactive, eventually leading to the removal of the two members from Allegany.
A Part of Maryland (Apr. 2020 - Present)
On April 14th, 2020, DashSlayer25 invited Allegany into the nation of Maryland. User chuckrock2001 rejoined the town, helping with major renovations on the outer wall and corner turret. Allegany is harassed by OrangeJuiceMoose and following internal strife within Maryland, the nation implodes for a short time before Allegany rejoins Maryland.
