Snap federal elections were held in the Salish Federation on April 1, 2020, to elect the government of the 3rd Parliament of the Salish Federation. Incumbent Chancellor JTPilfered had received a unanimous term extension from parliament several days earlier, however due to a stagnating political climate amid the Salish Revolution and a declining population, JTPilfered announced his resignation on April 1 and left for the State of Jefferson. Development minister SayerQT was unanimously chosen as Chancellor at the snap federal election held due to his resignation. No opposition existed in this election, due to the dire situation of the nation at the time and small population. SayerQT would lead the nation during this period to significant growth and recovery, and parliament would approve a term extension near the end of April extending until the end of May, when the next election was held.
